I do, and appreciate people who are honest even when it's something bad. What are your thoughts on this quote?

"“I order you to be truthful, for indeed truthfulness leads to righteousness, and indeed righteousness leads to Paradise. A man continues to be truthful and strives for truthfulness until he is written as a truthful person with God. And beware of falsehood, for indeed falsehood leads to sinning, and indeed sinning leads to the Fire. A man continues to tell lies and strives upon falsehood until he is written as a liar with God.” (Saheeh Muslim)"

I could talk all day about the need for truthful people. I am the "one" that can't tell a lie if I tried. If I even think I got away with a lie, it always, always comes back around and rears it's ugly head in some form or another. Besides, with one lie, you have to remember that lie and then to really cover your tracks, there are more lies to cover that lie. So endless and so stressful. Why add stress to an already stressful world? Once your caught in a lie, your integrity will always be questioned. Not a good feeling.
My spouse and I joke, that if we cheated on our tax's we would get caught. But, the guy next door could be a felon of the worse kind and would never get caught (not true of course...just hypothetical). Hmm? he must of got caught, that's why he's a felon? LOL
We need more honesty!

There is a certain amount of honor involved in telling the truth, or atleast the truth how you see it, as well as saying your true opinion of something. Even if you know that your opinion will be met with derision and/or isn't what the asker was looking for.

For anyone who's seen "The Last Samurai", in the beginning it gets narrated that the samurai had stood up for their ideals and fought and died for an almost forgotten word.....honor. Nowadays, there is too little honor in the world. Too many people trying to spin things to make themselves look better than they are.

As for the quote, even if you don't believe god exists, the quote has meaning. One should strive to be truthful in all they do, lest they be seen as spin doctors and deceivers. And nobody in their right mind trusts a spin doctor or deceiver.

As salaamu 'alaikym warahmatullahi wabaraktu, my friend.

All things must be tempered by compassionate understanding in the practice of mindful awareness.
Truthfulness , employed in an unskillful manner can harm one as much as a falsehood.
When one speaks, one must understand the one to whom the words are addressed so as to use the same for the benefit of that one and of ones self.

Truth can be a hurricane, when one needs but a gentle breeze.

Let us strive to be truthful , honest and kind.

Ma'a salaam.
may it all be well with you.

When I was young my best friends father was not a popular man even in church because he was always truthful. I must admit he was not very tactful which lead to many not liking him but I liked and respected him. If he said he liked you he meant it.

Yes, I agree. Sometimes the truth hurts at the beginning but you get over it. Lies hurt forever. Its very hard to repair the trust.

I do like a truthful person. Shakespear said, "Oh, what a wicked web we weave when first we practice to deceive." One lie usually creates another. The key is to be truthful, but gentle and tactful when you speak it.

I observed one the different day that attempted to describe that maximum feminists regard the bible as sexist, (it particularly is incredibly real).....the respond and the member disappeared, thats basically one occasion of dozens Ive considered. I additionally agree that YA could fairly have this talk board decreased to stuff like ought to I dye my hair? and elementary kiddy stuff like coke or pepsi? one element i recognize is that once human beings start up modifying the reality and putting parameters on public boards you recognize youre onto something, coz they only handle the single with the ball.
