I am constantly amazed at the response I get from people when I tell them that the Lord Jesus Christ delivered me from homosexuality.

They always say that I am “suppressing” my natural sexual orientation, that I am “denying” who I am by pretending to be straight.

No my friends, this is the truth: Jesus delivered me from being gay. He healed my brokeness and made me whole – just as He intended. No, I am not pretending to be straight! I AM straight, praise His glorious wonderful Name! Never before have I experienced such true love as He has for me. I am filled with joy and peace.

This is the question: why do you think a person who is delivered by Jesus from homosexuality is just "pretending" to be straight and "denying" themselves?

In response:

* No, I am not unique - Jesus has delivered others too.

* No one told me I was wrong to be gay. It was put into my heart when I got saved.

* Jesus is a God of miracles and can change anyone. He makes the sun rise, doesnt He??

* Yes, Jesus DID "fix" me.

* I was not in any religion when I got saved, so no one could "brainwash" me.

* I am not Catholic.

Yes, a person can be delivered from any sin they lay at the Master's feet except blasphemy of the Holy Ghost. The "pretending" to be straight and "denying" themselves arguments come from those to simply don't believe the truth about God. NOWHERE in the Bible is the practice of homosexuality ordained by God as a NATURAL ACT! Therefore, there is no basis for their arguments.

Look, anyone can be guilted into not having gay sex anymore, you can even go through enough cognative dissonance to believe you aren't attracted to men/women/whatever. But the fact is, that no one can be given a new preference. Honestly, I'm absolutely positive I believe you no longer engage in homosexuality, I trust you. But be honest with me, are you attracted to the opposite sex like you used to be the same? This isn't a matter of suppression, this is a matter of actively attempting to change something you just have no control over. Lot's of "Ex-gay" people have heterosexual relationships afterwards, some even get married. But none love the same way they used to. I'm happy that you're happy with your life, but be honest, are you Heterosexual, or just not Homosexual now?

your not one in a million, there are many like you, praise the Lord "He who is greater in you than he who is in the world" has chosen to be glorified through your overcoming of the sinful nature. I know many Christians with the same burden, and no, they are not pretending to be straight, they are straight and no, they are not denying themselves, they are saving themselves from a broken life and a broken relationship with the Lord, the Lord wants to be Lord of your life. It seems you have submitted to the Lord and His will so do not worry what the world thinks

I believe that some people have homosexual desires and some have hetrosexual desires, and some have bisexual desires.

All three should not have sex until marriage, and if those with homosexual and bisexual desires cannot find peace in a hetrosexual monogomus relationship, then they should embrace the words of Paul in the NT and celebrate a life of chastity.

Truthfully - are you now straight, or are you just not being gay? There's a difference. My brother is gay, I have gay friends - none of them were able to make a choice about being gay or not, any more than I was able to make a choice about being straight. It is what it is, and I strongly believe that you can't change your sexual orientation any more than you can change your eye color.

I think they will find this difficult to believe, they want to believe they are born this way and can't change they do not know that with God everything is possible.
You have chosen a good and right path, stay strong in the faith. I will keep you in my prayers.
Peace and Love and may God Bless you.

I'm glad you have a better handle on who you are, but ascribing your new certainty in your identity to a fairytale superhero who reached into your heart and "fixed" you is just juvenile. Either you were confused about what you wanted and now you know better, or you were practicing a lifestyle that you were tired of being punished by your religion for, so you stopped. Either way, Jesus didn't do it, you did. Take some bloody responsibility for yourself.

Could it be that you are really bisexual but have CHOSEN to live your life as heterosexual? A vast majority of bi's usually come to a crossroads of sorts and eventually choose to be with one gender or another.
Sorry, but you are not unique.

Generally speaking, when one is healed, they surely know it. People who have not experienced healings (such as yours, or lesser for that matter) yet will defend their dead positions.
