Is it harder to date a single father than a single mother?

Question

I am a single father of two younger children and it seems like the women I have dated seem less understanding about me having kids than I have for them having kids
These are nice, professional, middle class woman. Most are very together but seem to think a man is supposed to have more time. Any thoughts?

What??? Most of the dad's I know spend as much time as they can with thier kids. I know there are some who don't but I see single dad's all the time. The woman in the last generation are quicker to run away from thier kids now more than ever before.

I always had more luck dating single fathers than single mothers. I'm not really that "into" chicks.

lolol Seriously, though....yeah....those women are being selfish. They are probably the career driven type who didn't even want kids of their own. They really should be understanding. Any woman who doesn't see the need to put kids first, isn't worth having.

I'm a divorced mom, btw....hint hint.

As a single mother of 2, I can tell you it is hard all around. If these women know your "situation" and aren't understanding of your loving fatherly ways- then they are not right for you or your children! And especially if they have children, you'd think they would more than understand??! They are Lame and you shouldn't waste your time. Keep looking though single parent doesn't mean the end of dating, just makes it easier for people to show who they really are. i've been thinking lately though about joining some kind of a dating for single parents thing though, because I figure a single dad would understand me and my sons and our relationship more than a single person?? i cant remember where i heard that quote but it comes to mind. Most woman want to have a family and it is tough bringing up children and if the dont have kids of their own they might not understand how hard it is and therefor you dont have more time for them. My sugestion is to find a single mother, you may not like this idea tho, but she would understand

I am currently dating a single father who has two girls who he has full custody of.

It is very hard but I know his girls come 1st above everything just be understanding and explain that your kids are very important to you and will always come 1st but also make time for her and make her feel special you can also involve her in your life with your kids ie. go to the cinema together trips to the park .

If she cant understand its her loss and move on. Being a good father is hard enough you don't need a manic woman making things worse.

ya it is harder to find someone when your the primary caregiver to your children. my father raised me by himself and seemed to have a problem with finding a date. he eventually did thought :). these women seem to have been brought up to think that mothers should take care of the children if things don't work out. don't worry though, some women love that sensitive thing about men and swarm to guys like you, so just wait it out and see what happens

well usually single fathers only have their kids two weekends out of the month . so therefore they should have more time,as for the women i just dont think you are meeting the right kind of women . try some other places like church .good luck .
