Mohammed PBUH came with a message.
He came with a lot of proofs that he is a massenger.
1- When the message came to him, he was fourty years old, at that time he was illitrate he doesnt know how to write and read. How come he could auther that book "Quran" which contains stories of prophets and scientific information, the science now is prooving what is coming in the Quran.
2- The Quran predicted that the Romans will win against the persian and that happened.
3- In one of the battles of Muslims against the Romans, Mohammed PBUH was telling to the people in his city what was happening alive despite the long distance between the city and the battle field.
4- He predicted that the iron will talk "produces voice", now the television and many things contain Iron poduce voices.
5- He predicted that at the end of the time, women will be half naked.
6- The quran told that the moon light is not produced by moon but reflected.
7- The Quran said the earth is round. How would Mohammed knows?
8- Islam gave the perfect way of life to make people live healthy, happy and strong. of course if u applied.

All religions start with a base ie a form of belief or faith[unquestioned] and build upon that.Same question can be asked about Christ or any such founder of a religion.Therefore,if you wish to proceed further,you have to accept that"BASE' of a religion.If you don't want to believe Mohamed,the story ends there only and no more Islam for you.That's the simplest explanation.

I am a Muslim, I believe in Allah & the last messenger Mohammed (PBUH).
The Holy Quran is the book for Muslims, it has been revealed to prophet Mohammed(PBUH).

Why believe anything? Why believe Jesus? It was either taught to us as children or we made a choice as adults. Personally, I made a choice to become Muslim.

We believe in God and believe in Mohammad because he was prophet of God who gave us message of God. If we do not believe him then how we can believe that this is message of God.
