yes, I have this and have suffered for over 30 years with it. I had it before they even had a name for it.

Here is a brief list of common symptoms of this disease:

Chronic pain throughout the body
Burning, numbness and tingling
Tenderness when pressure is placed on or around the neck, elbows, hips, thighs and knees.
Sleep disorders
Chronic fatigue or exhaustion
Depression
Anxiety
Facial Pain
Jaw Pain (TMJ)
Memory Loss
Irritable Bowel
Tension or Migraine Headaches
High sensitivity to foods and medications (allergic type reaction).
Minimal tolerance to heat and cold
High sensitivity to bright lights and sounds
Hair Loss

Because symptoms develop gradually, this disease is often misdiagnosed. It is often diagnosed as a repetitive strain injury; sleep disorder condition, irritable bowel syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis or any other type of medical problem. Based on the American College of Rheumatology a person is diagnosed with Fibromylagia when he or she suffers pain throughout the body for at least three months and has 11 out of 18 tender points present.

I have written an article on this condition and what you can do for yourself at home. I've enclosed the link for you to read more information on this condition. I know this will help you to further understand what you may have.

Hey there, I know how you're feeling, i was recently diagnosed with Fibromyalga too, My primary condition being Rheumatoid Arthritis. So I know a whole lot about it. Its basically a condition thats associated with widespread aching, stiffness and fatigue (those being the symptoms) It originates in the muscles and soft tissues of the body.Peeps with fibromyalgia are found to have like multiple tender points in specific muscle areas, i have it in my shoulders mostly, the disease doesnt usually cause restriction of movement.

Try looking at the wikipedia site and searching for fibromyalgia, i once read t when first got diagnosed and its really informing and detailed.

Hope i helped. And good luck with everything =)

I was diagnosed with it about 6 years ago. At the time, I was bedridden the pain was so overwhelming.

I did the Guaifenesin treatment, and have had great success with that.

It's a very safe medication, safer than Tylenol. And it worked for me.

I found this information, printed it out and took a big pack of info to my doctor. He studied up on it, and put me on the treatment right away. He said he had a few dozen patients he'd put on the treatment since - all but one had great success. I think the one who didn't actually doesn't have fibromyalgia, but some other as yet undiagnosed condition.

Hi there, my dad had it. Common name "fibrositis". I am lucky, I was tested and have not inherited the gene.

There are a few support groups, if you would like to have contact with them. Try this one for the UK. (there are groups in USA too):
