Yesterday me and my boyfriend had some professional photo's taken of us together. The problem is they are going to send us the actual photo's and we want to copy them to give to other members of the family. What is the best way of making copies of them but keeping the quality? Can i take them to a photo processing shop and ask them to put them on a cd?

Now you get to listen to my speech. EVERY TIME you scan, copy, or reprint a picture you're taking food off of the photographer's familys' plates. If you want extra copies, get them from the photographer.

Best way is to buy extras from the photographer.

Unless you received a transfer of copyright from the photographer and bought the original negatives/digital files from them, making copies would be illegal(breaking copyright law).

Besides, scanning a print always loses quality.

Professional photos are copyright protected. It is illegal to copy them without a release from the photographer or studio. No commercial or consumer lab will do so w/o the release. Just order more from the photographer. That is how he/she makes a living.
