Humble, and not having the need to have to prove yourself in your abilities.....just for the sake of proving them.

The Seven Codes of Bushido seem rather good I'd say.

Benevolence
Courage
Honor
Justice
Loyalty
Politeness
Veracity

As we know, Bushido mean "way of the warrior". What else is a martial artist if not a warrior?

Everybody above gave great answers.

I would like to add that if in training, you get beat or hurt DO NOT get angry. It is so shameful to see someone who gets popped a little hard during training get mad and throw a tantrum.

If you get beat learn from it, don’t get angry. Learn and grow.

Oh!
And learn to feel your body movements and the movements of your opponent. Momentum was one of the most important “discoveries” I ever made in both grappling and stand up fighting. Whether it is the use of your momentum following a block and transferring that energy into a strike or the momentum of your opponent that you can use to throw them. Many people never discover momentum so they unknowingly fight against it. Learn it and use it.

Peace, able to navigate through any situation with confidence. One that has learned the art then forgotten what he had learned.(this is so he does'nt have to think about his moves). Become like water. But most of all don't fight, especially if you know what you are doing. Your jail sentence will be worse.
