If you're going to keep the car for another 3-4 yrs and can afford it do it for peace of mind. I did it for the first time on my 2008 CR-V. I would only get it through Honda, there's some dealers that specialize in selling extended warranties so check the Internet. I would go for a 5 yr 100k mile warranty. Price is negotiable, just like buying a car. It should cost between $700 - $900 (educated guess based on what I paid for 2008 CR-V). I wish I would of done it on my other car (2000 Nissan Maxima). I've put about 3k into repairs over the last 9 years. Ignition coils, O2 sensors, etc. The extended warranty at the time was around $600.00.

Extended warranty's are Repair insurance some good and some bad. As A Mechanic I have seen both some that only insure internally lubricated parts and other warranty companys that just say send them the bill. I have no experence with Blackhorse...But I like Universal Underwriters policy... You The car owner can take the car where you want for repairs.

hi, I have bought a couple of secondhand cars in the past and been given 3 or 6 months repair warranty, such as the black horse one. if you read between the lines, the faulty part has to "break" not wear out. so after consultation with a garage who were authorised to do the repair (for which I would pay them for, and then reclaim the money from the warranty people,) I was told that normally it would be wear and tear, so I would not get paid. The AA also do a similar one, but I would make sure of the small print before wasting money, but perhaps someone knows different and did get paid out.
