are we being told the truth about mankind ruining the environment eg, global warming and so on...
why are all these things people are telling us so negative? is it because of the worlds natrual causes? is it our fault? or is the government just trying to make us frightened. The Ice Age that occured thousands of years ago...people survived, and the Ice melted, that wasnt because on greenhouse gases was it? Why are they telling us now that if the north and south pole melts, we will all die? wouldnt that just mean more land for us? The most detailed and interesting answer will be chosen for best

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." - H. L. Mencken

"The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it."- H.L. Mencken

I think old Mencken had it right.

The "global warming" mentality is nothing new. It's just today's hobgoblin.

It's all about money. Follow the money and you will find the truth about the global warming scam.
A lie, repeated often enough, will end up as truth.
Dr Paul Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's Minister of Propaganda (1933-1945)
He claimed the bigger the lie, the greater the likelihood that people would believe it.

Here's truth about global warming/cooling:

Global warming is one-half of the climatic cycle of warming and cooling.
The earth's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water.
This is a completely natural phenomenon which has been going on since there has been water on this planet. It is driven by the sun.
Our planet is currently emerging from a 'mini ice age', so is becoming warmer and may return to the point at which Greenland is again usable as farmland (as it has been in recorded history).
As the polar ice caps decrease, the amount of fresh water mixing with oceanic water will slow and perhaps stop the thermohaline cycle (the oceanic heat 'conveyor' which, among other things, keeps the U.S. east coast warm).
When this cycle slows/stops, the planet will cool again and begin to enter another ice age.
It's been happening for millions of years.
Humans did not cause it.
Humans cannot stop it.

The settlers in the US went on cutting forests and created a dust bowl situation. When wind erosion became rampant and started suffocating city people , the need for research / development efforts in soil conservation and wise land use management were felt and initiated in right earnest.

Water scarcity in several cities across the world is an established fact.

Disappearance of forests as indicated in remote survey reports are already seen. It is well known that for photosynthesis plants use CO2 and sunlight. So if world's forests are cut indiscriminately What is to happen to all the unutilised and accumulated CO2.

To the above situation the emissions from all the motor vehicles, factory chimneys are added what is to happen to the atmosphere. There are so many other ways how the hydro carbons are increasingly released into atmosphere.

When people from the northern states go to the Arizona and Nevada desert areas during this period of the year how they feel uncomfortable can readily felt. Polar bears do not inhabit in these deserts or even in Florida by the beach side.

These are by way of few examples. So friends do not be doubting what the scientists say; act immediately and partake in sharing your knowledge

Throughout history, mankind has been thoughtless regarding the environment.
From stone age times when the middens were left behind, their versions of dumping trash, through early industrial 18th/19th century when coal fired factories made cities even more polluted than they are today.
We certainly have done damage, no question there, but have we the ability to create globe wide damage?
"Localised" certainly, city skies are grey for a reason.
Adjacent rivers are often polluted, and we have huge land fills for our rubbish.
But, don't get that confused with nature's processes.
Ice may melt now, but all will swing around and it will reform down the track.
We really don't know enough to make true definitive statements, except we are learning more all the time.
Eventually we'll get it right.

Mr. Jello had it right. The truth is that tragedy makes a better story. If people report that everything is alright, then nothing is left to be done. It is more important for researchers to find that there are problems, the more dire, the more desirable, so that they can conclude that additional study is needed. You get the same hype from a used car salesman. These prophecies of doom have been going on for thousands of years yet there never seems to be sufficient historical precedence refuting the nonsense.

Well, I don't believe we're 'all gonna die', as we have a ways to go before things get really pressing from global warming. In my understanding of it, most of the consequences (that are really dire) won't really become major for at least seventy to a hundred years. One of the most devastating things to come to pass is the raising of Sea Level approximately 24 inches from what it is now, giving coastal cities like London, for example, a real problem. Icebergs, too will be a hassle but remember, a lot of this stuff is caused just as much by natural factors, as it is by man. And lets not panic just yet, okay? Thanks.

Let's see. In some places people are advised to stay indoors because the pollution is so bad it is not good for their health.
Animals have become and are becoming extinct as a direct result of man and his mismanagement of the environment.
In South American the rainforest are being destroyed. These forest provide our planet with much of it's oxygen (you know, the stuff we breath).
The Cod Industry in Canada destroyed by overfishing. A place where ships would get stuck because of the number of Cod in the waters.
I just read of a dolphin they now believe to be extinct in China because of the pollution in the Yangtze River.
Yes global warming is a fact and why so negative. Because there is not one good thing about it.
When you send you grandchildren out in sun suits that look space gear to protect them from the burning sun, complete with oxygen tank maybe you'll get informed.
You could do with a little brushing up on the Ice Age as well.
I don't mean to offend but this is a bit of an issue with me. I've got members of my family involved in conservation and in environmental research. The things I hear are frightening.

The truth as they see it, however the eco wackos tend to stretch it a whole lot as they feel it is justified by the utopia they seek.

"Most people say lobal warming is coz of greenhouse gases etc. its not. its bcoz the sun is gettin close to the earth."

It seems pretty clear that you have an agenda to show that this is a lie due to the government wants to frightem you. I can tell you that this belief only exists in the U.S. I can talk about the reasons why manmade GW is likely, but yu don't seem to care about that.
