There is no field of study that explains how the universe was created, except maybe creationism. Cosmology just describes how the universe currently behaves. Science cannot explain the big bang because at that point the laws of physics break down. Neither quantum mechanics or general relativity can explain it because they are contradictory theories in the realm that the big bang exists (i.e. the very small but very massive environment of the very early universe).

Almost all fields study the universe in some aspect but astrophysics is primary. Science doesn't try to explain why something began. That would suggest that someone or some thing decided it should be so because.......Well, that's the whole argument isn't it.

there is no evidence that the universe was created. attempting to explain 'facts' that are not actually facts seems a bit premature for scientists to indulge, they are working on understanding what happened first. of course scientists are human and may have an opinion anyway but i don't think their opinion is much better than anyone else's.

philosophy considers why objects are around and what purpose they serve so if you consider the universe to be an object (or lots of them) then philosophy is the answer to your question; however because of the way philosophy works there can be multiple answers for multiple people. For example a self centered persons philosophy on why the universe exists would be that it exists so that he can enjoy himself, while a selfless person would say that the universe exists so that he can serve others

I think you first need to establish that there was a reason for it.

If you could do that then cosmology would be the area to look to.

You would certainly not want to resort to religious gobbledegook which can explain neither how, why, when, where etc.

It's Cosmology, and Astrophysics tries to explain how.
