Yes, how can you not? It shows the strength and depth of your caring when you are willing to do this. Anyone that wouldn't is the worst type of person, a coward. I mean if you are unwilling to stand up in times of danger and defend those or that which you love, what worth do you really have?

I think it's easy to die for one's beliefs. A lot of people have martyr complexes. The most interesting test is what a person would do with power.

Yes ideally I would.

But the truth is that many are not capable of doing this. I think you can't really know if a person truly is unless they are put in that situation. It is easy to say yes and hard to do.

Depends. I believe in my family's security and would die to protect them. I believe that purse snatching is a crime but not worth dying to prevent.

i would die for my country, kids, family.
But i would never die for some crazy cleric in an insane act of violence.
I would die in defense of my beliefs, but not to force them on others
