I watched the original star wars movie last night. Like many movies made before 2001, they sure don't make movies like that anymore.
The opening scene is Princess Leia on an espionage mission wearing civilian clothing, fires on uniformed soldiers, then spends the rest of the movie claiming to be a peaceful diplomat inbetween shooting at people.
This was enthusiastically received by Ronald Reagan who used the movie to illustrate America's foreign policy in his "Evil Empire" speech. He sure didn't have a problem with religeous devotees sneaking around blowing suff up getting recognised as heros.

Yeah, it's hard to be cricitical of some aspect of American foreign policy without sounding anti-American.
For the most part, I have no problem with America or Americans.

Yes she was. Princess Leia is the modern equivalent of Nancy Pelosi trying to warn the world about the evil plans of Emperor Bushantine to outlaw gay marriage by constitutional amendment.

I guess the Empire would consider her a terrorist and put that in anti-Rebel propaganda, but the Wmpire blew up her entire freaking planet, so they're the worst. Also, Leia was fighting for freedom, which kind of puts her in a situation like the colonists versus the British in the American Revolution.

Um, it's a movie.
Ask this question again after you point out the scene where she rams hijacked passenger planes into two civilian office buildings in midtown Manhattan on a busy Tuesday morning.
It's amazing the lengths some people will go to justify the actions of thosw seeking to kill us. Then they complain that we question their patriotism and support for our troops.
I hope enough people realize this and keep the Democrats out of office again in 2008.

Fighting against a tyrant who controls its people , is not the same as Islamic terrorist blowing up innocent people. Very poor taste on your part to compare the two. One is a fiction movie , the other is reality and innocent people die.

Depends on how you look at her, either from Darth Vader's or Obi Wan's point of view!
I believe she was under attack, she knew they were after her, so it could have been self defense. It has been awhile since I have seen the first movie.
Interesting question, even if you had to make an anti-American dig.

No. Princess Leia was a fictional character in a movie - not a terrorist.

By current definition Yes she is a terrorist
but if you win the fight you rewrite history
to call yourselves founding fathers, and
patriotic freedom fighters,
This has worked for several thousand years
of human history.
