At 13, 15, 18,21 which? Who decides anyway? Who says you are now ready and mature? What if at 13 I`m in love should I not have sex? What would be the difference between a 13 year old and an 17 year old deciding to have sex?

So if 13 is ok, then surely at 9 or 10 years old you can try if you are able to? The majority of abortions are not necessarily done by teenagers. A lot are done by adults.

The difference between a 13 year old and a 17 year old is emotional maturity. A 17 year old, on average, should be much better equipped to deal with the emotional states that come with as well as after sex.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with teenagers having sex, when you feel comfortable, and if your partner is comfortable, I say go for it as long as both of you understand what is happening.

Do you think you could handle getting pregnant and having a baby at 13? Or what if you got an STD OR AIDS/HIV? I mean sex can be great when your ready, only you can decide for yourself if your ready or not. But I think it would be so much better for you later on if you didnt rush things. But that is your decision. Its not the fact that you are mature enough to have sex its the fact that you are mature enough to deal with some of the resposiblities that can come with sex.Cause I have known alot of people who have had sex too young and got pregnant and ended up getting an abortion because they felt they werent mature enough to have a baby. But what I say if your not mature enough to have a baby and take care of all the responsebilties that come with a baby (like buying everything you need for a baby crib, stroller diapers etc. as well as paying for the kids health insurance) which is not cheap. So before you decide to do anything please do yourself a favor and think about this long hard because these decisions can effect the rest of your life. If you do decide to have sex, please do yourself a favor have the person who you want to have sex with prove that they are clean by getting an std test and use a condom. Better safe then extremely sorry. Good Luck.

I like the begining of your question, 'if' pre-marital sex...; well lets assume it is ok, at the ages below 18. By standards derived from the general study of the human body's physical, emotional and psychological development, the average person is found not to be mature enough to handle stress related to these areas i.e physically, emotionally and psychologically.

No one really determines a particular age that one may have sex, as a matter of fact in some areas in Africa, children within the ages of 12 and 17 get impregnated and give birth to children, but due to the premature state which they are, they have a high tendency to develop serious complications relating to child birth. Also, children of these ages are considered not to be adequately informed to handle issues relating to sex.

You should not view sex in the perspective of the intercourse alone, it has far more intricate issues attached... i'd say speak with 'adults' they would know!

I guess the big difference would be physical maturity. However, I think more importantly would be emotional maturity. I don't think a 13 year old would be as mature as a 17 year old to make decisions as rationally as a 17 year old. Waiting until you're a bit more mature isn't a bad thing. But it's not unheard of for 13 year olds to engage in sexual activity, although it's mostly frowned upon.

Dear Ngeli C,

In my religion, Islam.
Sex before marriage is a Sin.
It's totally prohibited.

e.g. Are you very sure, the couple having sex will get marry. If the girl is pregnant at the young age, the boy disappeared, who's to be responsible for the child later. Who's the father etc, etc. Big problem with be up in the later parts. That's why in my religion is totally prohibited and as big Sin.

Normally, if the young girl is pregnant, the boy happily get away, the girl will be in hot soup. She may go mad. Both are happy in the sexual. In the later part will be the ruin of the baby's and young mother's life.

I have no comment on your question.

Im pretty sure if you really love the person and trust the fact of the action will not be exposed, that you should do it if it feels right.

I do think 13 is pretty young and maybe you should wait, things can happen. And the only thing that should stop you is the parents finding out. So if you do, make it worth it and stay protected.

Hope i helped :)

You need to talk to your parents, sex at 13? If you were my son or daughter and I found out you were sexually active, you would be locked in the house. And the difference is maturity. I don't think 17 is old enough to make that kind of decision, best to wait.

needless to say you do no longer elect the two factors or you does no longer a priori exclude scriptures which particularly restrict intercourse exterior of marriage via a single person, i.e. fornication. once you're married this is adultery. the two carried the loss of existence penalty with the aid of Jesus' time and previous. The definitions are purely a secret in case you will no longer use a dictionary. The gist of your question is "communicate me out of it." you already know approximately incurable STDs, the struggles of single moms. Christians place themselves able that makes fornication basic, yet they do no longer use condoms because of the fact they elect to pretend they gave in in a 2nd of weak point, as though they did no longer plan to be by myself with the different person the place fornication might desire to ensue. SO spin the roulette wheel. what's a existence of Herpes against a 2 minute orgasm with a guy whose gonna roll over, bypass to sleep and not call you the next day?

Were a little old here for right and wrong. Its your life, and you have control over your decisions. When you have sex though, know that two lives are involved, and that there could be consequences. All anyone can tell you is to protect yourself, but using contraception, be it condoms or birth control. I have met way to many people whose lives have been limited due to pregnancies early in life. Std's are no fun either.
