Dear tangy_mango,

In terms of facts you can examine what different religions teach and come to a realization that they can't all be right. Some religions for example worship animals, while other religions teach that worshipping animals is wrong. So how can both be right?

It is true that humans are limited in knowledge. And this is why God must make Himself known to man- and this is where the Bible comes into play.

But without getting on a tangent- the more religions that you study- the more conclusive it ought to be that they can not possibly all be the same. History has in fact shown us religious groups that have believed the wrong things and it has let to people's death and destruction (ie: Jim Jones and Jonestown, etc.)

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

That can be debated. We know that Christianity grew out of Judaism and Islam is simply a patchwork quilt of Judaism, Christianity and Zorostarianism (or so I was taught). I imagine that if one really believes this than 3 major religions are basically one in the same and all of it descends from Zorostarianism which is the worlds oldest monotheistic religion. As for the other religions, I do not think that they can co exist peacefully with the big 3, especially with the major resurgence of earth based faith.
The root of all of the ideas though, essentially peace, love and enlightenment is really what is supposed to come through and something every single person on earth no matter what their faith is could do with a good lesson.

Yes. In a matter of speaking...they are meant to keep you here. This is the theory of what is known as the God program: lust, envy, anger (the seven deadly sins) + a belief in good/evil, truth/unreal, ignorant/wiser are all seperatist patterns of behavior and as long we continue to have them we will reincarnate. if you have to think of an answer, then the 'seperatist matrix' (or seperation from God) already has you. As Sri Bhavira once metioned: everybody is already enligthened. However, just becuase everyone secretly knows that everything is already perfect, doesn't mean they are aware of it.

There is no one truth with many colors. It has nothing to do eastern and western.
ALL religions need to be upgraded.

To James down below: this central power that you speak of...is none other than the greatest conspiracy in the entire history of creation. For we all exist as fragmets of one mind, and a very angry/corrupt mind at that.

To answer your question, stay away from the following as these are 'sinful' and are meant to make you addicted to the illusion of the world. As Jesus said "be in the world, not of the world." Hindus and Eastern religions talk about gaining control of your body too. Stay away from:

- red meant (taoism + christianity speak of this)
- alcohol
- pornography and sex.
- sugar
- soy
- violent media

No religion is the "same" as any other.

there may be similarities, but the tenets of faith that are required or the mandated doctrine that must be adhered to in order to be considered a believer is different for every religion.

Islam is not Christianity...(Islam does not believe Christ is God)
Christianity is not Judaism...Christianity believes Jesus is the messiah, in Judaism they do not.
Judaism is not Hinduism...Hinduism believes in reincarnation...Judaism does not...Christianity and Islam do not...
Hinduism is not Buddhism...Hinduism believes Brahman is God, not Buddha
Buddhism is not Zoroastrianism (which does not pre-date Judaism by the way, is dated approx 1000 years after Abraham.)
Etc etc etc...they are all different.

The conclusion is that the god of one religion is not the same god of every other religion.

A religious doctrine is to be accepted as "truth." It is the nature of any religion...in the end either it is true or it is false. If all religions contradict each other in essential doctrine, which they do, then only one can be true if any is true because of the inherent contradictions.

In the end there is only one truth concerning religion, and if any one religion is true, then all others have to be false based solely on the individual fundamentals of each and every known religion. Read the tenets of faith and it is clear.

Religion is Mans idea on who they perceive God to be with rules and regulations. It was because of religious zealots that crucified Jesus.Religion is evil.Jesus said if you live by the law you die by the law.God is good.Jesus is mans only hope of receiving eternal life. This is not religion. This is the way it is.

Well, they're obviously the same in SOME ways or else they wouldn't be all categorized as a "Religion".

You can do that with just about anything, though.

They each believe that there is some form of higher being, and that they are right and everyone else is wrong. Beyond that there is little agreement on anything.

i am a former catholic and now a practicing wiccan and in the course of my study i came to the perception that thier is a central power which we all draw from, from this central power come the different aspects of the god and goddess. we all give power to the dietys we worship by believing in them.
