All trees produce resin or latex, to close a wound and the natural gum=caoutchouc=India rubber is the latex of the gum-trees ( Hevea brasiliensis ).
People cut some "V" into the bark and after a certain time they collect the gum.
Nowadays the most of gum is an artificial product.

You cut a (or a few) gash(es) into a gum tree and scrape off the gum that builds up. It's much like maple tapping for syrup, but gum isn't as fluid.

grab the tree by its bark and shake hard.
then chiclets and packs of gum fall to ground.

Shake hard enough and Money will fall.

One time I shook so hard a yacht fell on my head.

good luck
