in my religion-which is Indian religion--it says the person who is I guess like the devil (called Kali-meaning hypocrisy) will hide in four places -illicit sex, gambling, intoxication and meat eating and the fifth one is where you will find all the others and that is where there is a lot of gold (money)
all those other little things like numbers, crosses, marks- they are little trinkets I think---but If a bad person is pretending to be religious by using these things as a cover up then -yea--bad people hide in religions a lot.

You are very right. Satan does work through deceit and many have already fallen into the trap by wearing crucifixes with Jesus on the cross. The second commandment states not to make graven images of "anything that is in heaven," or "on earth," for that matter. So as far as breaking a commandment goes images of Jesus who is in heaven violate the rules.
BUT...
In my opinion the mark of the beast will be money with Ronald Reagan's picture on it. Think about it. He has been associated with the number of the Beast. 6 letters in each of his names. Ronald Wilson Reagan. (Rev 13:18) He was wounded and recovered from the wound. (Rev 13:3)
He had power over all kindreds tongues and nations as president of the "Melting Pot" called the United States of America. (Rev 13:7) There actually exists a talking image of Reagan in the form of a talking doll. Something that no one 2000 years ago could have predicted unless the prophecy is true. (Rev 13:15) A Biblical spelling for Reagan is RE d dr AGON. (Rev 12:3) A Biblical pronounciation for Reagan is red d RAGON.
But what of the Mark of the Beast? In 2016 there will be a dollar coin with Reagan's picture on it that will come out as part of the Presidential Dollar series that as of today features the first three American presidents. Although the U. S. Mint says that they will not eliminate the dollar bill. eventually the economics of spending over 500 million dollars yearly to replace the bills will force their elimination.
At such time anyone who needs something costing less than five dollars will have to deal with dollar coins. And that will possibly even override my solution of getting a debit card and direct deposit and a PayPal account.

The mark will have something to do with the number 666. It may be a prefix added to all your personal ID numbers and encoded on a microchip or something like that. While Satan works through deceit, this deceit (Mark) will instead be cloaked in convenience, being able to buy, sell, pay bills and etc all with the swipe of that microchip just like the self checkouts at the average grocery store!

Well, it depends. The Crucifix is well known to be a symbol of Jesus' time on Earth, but at the same time, God, Jesus, the Bible and other sources all say that Idolotry is bad, the use of Symbols representing God or Jesus is bad, and that worship of Symbols representing God and the like is bad... So keeping that in mind, some could conclude that it is already being done.
When faced with the idea of worsip without focus, people tend to stray. People are visual, for the most part. Focus upon an object gives meaning to an otherwise nonvisual ritual. Why not bastardize a well known symbol and use it in a subtle way to convert otherwise smart people into utilizing their own (physical) weakness to visual aid in order to control them.
Remember belief is hard to alter when people become comforable with it regardless how absurd it may tend to be.

The mark of the beast is symbolic, & represents a worldwide organization that is currently active.
Beasts seen in vision --in the Bible-- represent governments.
The number '6' represents imperfection.
The number '3' is used for emphasis.
So, 6 written 3 times symbolizes EXTREME Imperfection!
Not being able to buy, etc, unless having the mark, means that those who refuse to obey/worship the 'beast', will be seriously persecuted.

The cross was originally a symbol of degradation and death. The crucifix has come to represent salvation and eternal life in Jesus Christ.
I doubt it's going to change any time soon.
If anything ... an EMPTY cross has the greatest potential for such illicit use ... because there's NO JESUS there.

No, the mark of the beast is not the crucifix.
And the number 666 refers to nothing more than MONEY! Think about it. The scripture says "he causeth ALL... to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.
ALL means ALL.
There is not a person in this world that has not ALREADY received the “mark of the beast” in his or her “right hand”—not one! It is impossible to live in this world without being affected in some way by commercialism, money, or the economic structures set up by the societies of the earth.
Jewish custom taught that what one does with one’s “right hand” is a reflection of the actions one makes in his daily life. What one thinks and focuses upon, is represented by a “mark” in the “forehead.”
The greatest portion of our waking hours are spent in pursuit (“mark in right hand”) of the lifestyle (“the image of the beast”) we have imagined in our minds (“mark in their foreheads”) for our families and ourselves. Those who have the mark, or “seal of the Father in their forehead” think of others and how their actions affect the least among us, trying in every way possible to do unto others what they would want done unto them.

One....you should never assume.
Two....the cross is merely pointed out as a metaphor for all of our sins. Jesus (although probably not gladly) carried the cross to its destination. Showing all who would see, that he was not swayed by the burden of carrying all of our transgressions on his shoulders.
The TRUE Bible is the most violent book ever printed. Jesus was tortured because of the recommendations of other RELIGIOUS persons who feared losing all the power and glory that had been handed to them by similar fanatics.
Not sure what the mark of the beast is....but don't think it's the cross.

maybe it will be something even further than what YOU might expect like a huge myth fabricated from astrology and superstition to gain power over people rather than educate them . All the past religious systems have had their gods put to rest even by yourself why not go one further and touch down to earth with some tangible logic and reason which really is not that far away from the fantasies of obsolescent thinking.

i dont think so i believe the mark of the beast will be something that is more relevent to our times. I dont think it will appear demonic or even religious you said it yourself deciet is a very powerful tool. one of my favourite quotes is, "the devil's greatest trick is convincing the world he didnt exist", its been used a fair bit through history but is proably most widely recognised in the movie "the usual suspects".
