I'm not sure what I believe in. I think everyone has an equal chance at being right about thier beliefs because no one really has solid proof of anything. So....is it possible to just be open minded to everything and not have a religion at all? Do you think that might complicate things for me?

I am 'Spiritual' but have no particular religion. On my dog tags I have 'no preference' listed. I believe that as long as you believe in your heart that there is a 'Being' greater than you, that created this wonderful world (even with its many flaws); that you can find peace within yourself. I was brought up a 'Southern Baptist'; have gone to many different churches and have tried to keep an open mind about most religions. I still do not believe that you have to go to a church to worship or that you have to have a specific 'religious' stamp to be 'religious. Study the other different religions and decide for yourself. Follow your heart. Good Luck and My Thoughts will be with You.

Everyone has to eventually decide for themselves what they are going to believe. If you decide not to have a religon that doesn't mean you will disagree with what religons teach. If you believe mostly with what a specific religon teachs that doesn't make you a follower of that religion.
I was raised in the Catholic religon but now find greater freedom and connectedness with God/Universe and people by being an independent seeker. One can only be open minded to the extent that you inquire about knowledge, eventually you must decide what you believe. Without deciding what is right or wrong for you, will leave you in a state of confusion.

^You have free will, you don't have to believe in anything if that is what you choose.

As far as complicating things, it can get sticky with family and friends, especially if you are underage, so maybe keep it to yourself at least for now until you're sure. You should be true to yourself, and live your life as you see fit. Good luck, I hope this helped.

I think it might be complicated for you. You should try learning about other religions and try and find out the flaws of each religion before knocking them off. Then, if you don't find any answers to your questions, you might as well consider yourself agnostic or atheist

I disagree about 'everyone has an equal chance of being right".

God either exists or he doesn't, there is no 'chance' of him existing if he doesn't, and there isn't a 'chance' he doesn't if he does. And because he either exists or he doesn't, chance isn't involved.

Oh yeah!! just think of not haven to listen to mans version of God. You could live a peacful God worshiping life if you wash your hands of temptation into mans world of what, who, and why God is.

Blessed are those who thirst and hunger (seek) for rightiousness, for they well be fill'd

Yes you can; it is your choice what you do with your life. As a Christian, I have to spread the word, but I won't be too pushy: just be open-minded to Christians that are trying to spread their religion. Hope you make up your mind!
