The most I have seen is three with a punch and that took two people to hold and two people behind the holders bracing them. Most breaking techniques require a stout person or two to hold the boards so that there is no give in their arms, shoulders, and backs when a person makes contact if it is more than a single board and this is why sometimes people fail. The most I have ever seen with a kick is three also.

I've personally broken three with my fist, five with my elbow, and six with my foot. And yeah, they were all 3/4" pine cut 12"x12" :) I've also broken seven garden brieze block bricks at a time.

Breaking is all about focus, concentration, executing good technique, and confidence. It really challenges the artist to block out extraneous distractions, concentrate on the technique at hand, and apply all their knowledge and experience to a clean, effective break. Pretty challenging no matter what rank you hold, but it gets much easier with time.

My martial arts association also hosts breaking divisions during their tournaments which provide points based on the number of boards, difficulty of the breaking technique, and relative rank of the participant. It's fun !!

I was in a martial art festival some years ago and they had a kid to break boards but one at a time and he broke around 15 in that series of moves he was doing.

When my brother spilled coke on my laptop I punched the door of my room... Well the door broke and you wouldnt say that that was the best demonstration for my parents to see:P

I have dropped 15 onto the sidewalk before and they all broke. Does that count?
