Isn't it evident our bodies were created by intelligent design? Think about how complex we are and how everything works together to sustain life. There has to be a creator.

It was an accident that turned out to have been inevitable.

I am not qualified to formulate a theory on how life began. I will leave that to those who are qualified to do so.

"I once asked a distinguished astronomer, a fellow of my college, to explain the big bang theory to me. He did so to the best of his (and my) ability, and I then asked what it was about the fundamental laws of physics that made the spontaneous origin of space and time possible. 'Ah,' he smiled, 'now we move beyond the realm of science. This is where I have to hand you over to our good friend, the chaplain'. But why the chaplain ? Why not the gardener or the chef ? Of course chaplains, unlike chefs and gardeners, claim to have some insight into ultimate questions. But what reason have we ever been given for taking their claims seriously ?" — Richard Dawkins.

If you believe in Intelligent Design, do you believe in Intelligent Falling as well? If not, why not?

life began with the sneeze of the great green arkleseizure. or was that the origin of the universe? i can't remember.

i don't know the details. if you do believe in god, how did life begin? you reckon you know who did it, but you still have no idea HOW.

"Isn't it evident our bodies were created by intelligent design?"

no, it isn't. if you're talking about humans now, there is much evidence that we have evolved - it is a very different situation to the origin of life.

One can infinitely regress to the point to ask what created god?
I'm not preoccupied with the thoughts of "if not god, then who/what"
Cosmology is interesting to ponder and to read/hear/watch various opinions, but most non believers [as Christians like to categorize] are not vocationally involved.

It's at an elementary level of thought to gravitate to an original creator concept because objects a man is capable of producing are "created".

We can use epistemology to determine the extent any current level of understanding the concept of "origin" is probable.

Simply because we may or may not have a satisfactory explanation, does not by default result in a god.

Some concepts of god would certainly be comforting to accept.
As it were, it would be a "leap of faith" to do so.

Lets see I know how my life began My mother and Father went to the drive in and the movie sucked and they were intelligent enough to design me the end and my beginning give or take a few months depending on when you think my infant mind was developed enough.

Abiogenesis.
And if all you have is 'look at the human body, it's so complex, it must have an intelligent creator, bla bla bla' then you really need to read a book about evolution.

Who is concerned with this? I live in the NOW.

Needless to say, Darwin makes a strong case....and the molecular evidence is quite convincing too.

Ugh. Please open your mind. Why do you think "there has to be a creator"? Why are you linked to the "someone must be responsible" principle? Why can't it be a law of nature or a law of science? Why must it be some deity with super powers?

Good Question.....
It is very evident that our bodies are way too complex to have simply "appeared" and as for the evolution theory; fine, O.K. But where did the apes come from? Most of the other people just replied "I don't care" that should tell you all you need to know about them.

I don't know and neither do you. Stop pretending.
Do you really believe a primitive desert tribe thousands of years ago had the answer to this question when they didn't even have toilet paper..
We have made some progress since then.

Evolution. I actually think God IS evolution. biology, physics, chemistry-- you can believe it is God's work and still accept the scientific principles.

Of course, this doesn't work if one adheres to the Christian story of Adam and Eve.
