People will say that God cured them of their cancer. But why does He cure them, and not others? Is it possible that it wasn't God and just luck of the draw?

You might say, well maybe it was that other person's time to go. If that is so, why would the one who was cured get cancer in the first place? Why would God make them spend all that money on treatment if they were meant to survive it anyway?

The only way to get the full understanding is to ask God, but here are some things I have learned over the years.

Sometimes, one person's suffering is to strengthen or test their faith.

Sometimes the suffering is to provide an observer with an example of faith.

Sometimes the cure is to provide proof to the sufferer or an observer that God exists and hears.

Think about that "Pink Bubblegum" medicine the doctor gives little kids when they have ear infections. The first instruction is to "Shake Well" before using the medicine.

Salad Dressing is similar. You have to shake it up before you can use it.

Same with people. Sometimes, in order for God to use you, He has to "shake you up" first. Cancer and other calamities do a very good job of shaking you up.

God (if there is a God) does not make people sick and he does not cure them. If God could choose who gets a disease, who survives and who dies..then he's got a lot of answering to do

Actually the ones who don't get cured are blamed by God's scapegoat, Satan.

If it's good press, God takes credit.

Bad press, finger point to Satan.

It's the Christian way!

Well, you're the judge of all things, so tell us...

Oh, you did.

Don't you have just a shred of humility to discern that maybe God has a reason?

24 of my Hard-Rockin / head banging buddies died before 30. But, I lived. We did it all the same, but God spared me. (Yes, I can say that confidently). So, who am I to judge God??

He saved me. I'm glad. Humbled. I didn't deserve it any more than my buddies. My mom has survived cancer for 6 years. Thank God. I can't speak for why the others didn't. That's their business with God.

god is not making people suffer. we are all subject to unforseen occurences. hegets blamed for much and not praised nearly as much as he should

also, your reference to predestination is not scriptural. that is a pagan notion. if you were predestined to die at an appointed time it would be first of all unloving, secondly, why would we bother to buckle up ourbabies, wear helmets etc.

and those that cause accidents and murder. should they be punished for doing 'god's work'? would god use such a person to fulfill his purposes? and if he would, why would we grieve so?

i have heard the argument that those that cause accidents and whatnot have interferred with"god's plan". if you could interfere, wouldn't that make you more powerful than god?

and we wouldn't call it god's plan. plans can be broken. if it is god's will, it will be done, no plan about it. it would be his purpose.

people are so egotistical. They think that God chose to answer their prayer, while simultaneously ignoring millions of other prayers for people who very well could be praying for things much more important, instead of believing that they got what they wanted by chance and not because they just happened to pray about it

The only correct answer to your question is "I don't know." May God be glorified in all circumstances, in blessings, trials and even in the consequences of sin.
