If you have a felony as a teenager, that should not show up at all when someone does a background check. You dont have to mention it when you fill out the job applications. Go to a temp agency and tell them that you would like to get a job where you have a chance to be hired on through the company that they put you at. Have you tried looking on the internet for jobs? I had the same problem, but I have two. Good luck in the job search. You will find something soon...Dont put yourself down and give up cause then that is when it will be the hardest. Or even try to go back to school for a while in something that you like. Work at a resteraunt until you can get the job that you want.

how is the felony showing on your record, most minor records are sealed even from employers. You may want to find out about that. Do they know about your pregnancy? How far along are you? Some jobs won't hire pregnant woman. I would take anything i could find right now just to get some money together. Do you have Job and Family Services in your area that could help you find a job. They sometimes have programs to help people in your position find employment.

You can try a temp agency. I know one here in Los Angeles were they don't do background checks, if there's work..they call you in. Anyways also try the welfare office. There's a program they help you find a job and help you by giving you money for expenses. If you had a probation officer he or she could of helped you by cleaning your record. Sometimes courts do that. They review your record and stuff. My brother was also on the bad side as a teen and got help from his officer. He got a good paying job in a warehouse and got his record cleaned. No felonies or misdemeanors. Good Luck

I can't tell you where to look, I can only say Good Luck. My husband has a felony and it does close a lot of doors for him. Maybe if you go through an agency they can find you something you can do. Remember they can't not hire you cause you're pregnant.

You can call a lawyer (usually there's a local legal aid office that can help) and ask if the record of that has been sealed. If you were a minor, it should have been sealed. If it was sealed, then there's no reason for you to ever have to tell anyone.

If it was as a teenager you may not have to disclose it. I would check the laws where you live. Also make sure you were actually convicted, and that adjudication was not just withheld. No conviction=no disclosing. The applications can only ask if you were ever CONVICTED, they can not ask if you were arrested or served probation. Most crimes now, particularly if you were that young, adjudication would have been withheld for your first offense.
