Go with the Ruger. The Henry looks nice but isn't that great a rifle. You might want to take a look at the Marlin lever action in .44 Mag.; mine is a honey. . .

I have a Henry 22 lever action and its action is as smooth as a Browning BLR-22. Based on that, if I were looking for a 44 mag. lever action, I'd prob. go with the Henry.

If memory serves me correct, henry has been making firearms much longer than Ruger. I'd rather have a Henry , simply because i already have one, and it's been trouble free since day 1.

Henry is made in the US, which is why the price is higher. It isn't that much higher than a Ruger, and I like the aesthetics of the Henry better than the Ruger.

i'm not sure have limited knowlede of both but i have shot the ruger it shot alright but i prefer the look of the henry. Would have to shoot a henry to make my mind up.
if both shot about the same then i would buy the henry
if one outperformed the other then i would buy it

With the exception of both being .44 magnum, they are hardly a fair comparison. You buy a gun for performance handling and accuracy, not asthetics........This is not a case of comparing apples to apples.

Personally, I'd go with the Ruger. It's been around quite awhile, time-tested, and reliable.
