Yes, but only if the female dog is the Border Collie and the male dog is the Jack Russel. Never breed a large male to a small female, because there's a big chance that the puppies will grow too big for the female to birth. The female dog will need surgery to remove the puppies, or may easily die in the process of giving birth.

The question is: Why breed them together? What are you trying to accomplish? There's so many mixed-breed puppies out there that are being euthanized as I type, because there's not enough homes for them. Why bring more into the world?

Yes if the Border Collie is the mother. Anyway the money you'd save would be needed and much more if she were to have puppy's.,unless you want to scrimp on them too.The pups would need feeding by six weeks. How do you plan to get around THAT??There is another option though.Don't let her run with the male while she is on heat. There is also another way to avoid getting her fixed which involves monthly hormone injections.Consult a vet and find out more about these options. You have to look at the big picture to really tell if you are going to save money.

Why in the world wouldn't you get them fixed? If they don't have papers, they shouldn't be bred anyways. There are too many weird mixes out there that are trying to find homes. I'm sure you would be able to find them homes but it would be hard.

Especially because they are two very different breeds. Also, if you don't want to get them fixed because of money, that's not a very good reason. You'll spend a lot more in vet bills and food and whatnot for the puppies than it would cost just to spay and neuter your two dogs in the first place.

Oh, to answer your question, it is possible.

Any male dog can mate with any female dog, regardless of what breed they are. If the female is the JRT, then getting pregnant by a Border Collie is dangerous. If the resulting pups are too big to pass, she and the puppies will die during labor. Pony up the dough and get them fixed. I've seen this cross... neurotic doesn't even scratch the surface

Yes it is possible for any two dogs of the opposite sex to produce offspring.A Border Jack ( as they are called) is a mix that is insane! They are totally hyper and have to be doing something all the time, making them destructive if kept indoors all the time,or confined. Please get both of your dogs fixed,to prevent the births of anymore unwanted pups.

If the Jack Russell is the female-sure, but you'd better set aside a good $2,000-$3,000 for the cost of an emergency c-section. Those puppies will be far too large for her to pass naturally, and if she didn't have a c-section, you'd lose both mom and babies.

Puppies (shots, de-worming, food, ETC) will cost you FAR more than having your dogs fixed.

Yes, they most assuredly could. You should try to get both fixed. If cost is a problem, call your local shleter, and they can usually help you find low-cost and free clinics in your area. If the female is teh JRT and the malke is the border, breeding the pair could kill the female due to size differences.

since when is being able to breed two totally different dogs an excuse for not getting them fixed. u r a bad pet owner and should have ur dogs taken away. yeah its possible but y would u want to intentionally do that. maybe u should just take ur dogs to the shelter now. they r a lot better off there where they can find loving responsible people who will fix them and love them. did u know that fixing ur dogs actually adds years onto their lives. u really need to rethink the ideas u have. and get rid of ur dogs ur not responsible enough to care for them

EDIT: and to syklops stop being a retarded prick. u know as well as i do that anything he is planning to do with these dogs is wrong and he should just get rid of them now so go screw off and get a life instead of sitting on here all day and insulting people

Yes they can. I'd spay/nueter both. Also if the female is Jack Russell , she' d have to have c-section or might even die. Its cheaper to fix them both.

Breeding these 2 will produce puppies that will, literally, bounce off walls.

They're both so high strung, high enery, high maintenence, smart, strong willed and difficult for most people to manage, that I doubt they would even make good pets.

Get them both fixed.
