I think it is good to take someone who is being mean and show them that we are not. We should not argue with them just give them an answer to their question as best as we can with as much supporting information as we can. We have a duty to acknowledged God and Christ to all who do not believe. You never know when a kind word or a simple statement of fact may change someones mind or get then to really thinking. If you can do that then you maybe the one who helps lead them to God and help them turn away from their ideas. It is our duty as Christians to carry the word to unbelievers and at least give them a chance to hear and think about who God is.

Probably NEW to R&S like I was.
When I first began posting I thought "most" of the questions asked were in earnest, & innocently, I did not read the profiles nor the posting comments of others, just posted my responses to the questions. Now, after several months, I can spot the ones who are bored and want to liven up their closet lives by posting the obscene, the ridiculous, and the blasphemous for the sake of upsetting people...and I avoid them.

Two reasons. Not everyone is as blasphemous as they appear. The right word might turn them to God.

Second, there are many people who read the questions and answers and may not post anything themselves. I think it's good to have a good answer for those people, even though the original questioner may be hopeless.

I pray before i get on here and answer questions from people who i feel "guided" to, or may be really looking for some real answers... even if that fact is not immediately apparent. Sometimes they will poke fun or "make trouble" but I don't take it seriously. Afterall, they may not even have started their journey with God before, so sarcastic or troublesome remarks are to be expected.

Amen, Charity! ^ ^

Second Timothy 4:2. Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

What would Jesus do? Do you think he would be content to let people ask blasphemous questions without defending the good name of our God? It's our job as Christians to share the good news with those who need to hear it-- even (perhaps especially) the obnoxious ones!

I doubt most of the people here are out to make trouble, if I might say. Most come on here to discuss ideas which they consider important or pertinant.

I assume you are refering to those that have been placed by many into the group titled "Athiests"...if they're out to make trouble then they're hypocrites. If they say they seek for truth but come on here with no goal of finding truth then they're lost and confused.

As far as I know, most of the people come on here to truly discuss points.

I agree w/ the fact that christians shouldn't answer the questions to people who are out to make trouble. Amen!

Watchur, you are taking that verse out of context.

We are all called to be living witnesses of his glory. Not everyone on here is a mocker.

by the same token, you could ask why Christ spent time witnessing to Sadducees.

No Truth - God word will not return to Him void. It either convict or condemned. Those who are ready will be convicted and come to Him those who would not will be tormented more with the Truth than even before. Truth will literally "Kill" them
