i am looking for a projector/lens that can be ceiling mounted but the thing is i want it so have about a 120"diagnol screen but only have the projector about a few feet away from surface to prevent shadowing while people walking by. the reason for it is cause i am 6'2" and my funiture is closer than the 10' needed for getting that pitcure. the room it would be in is not that big in the first place.

The guy above me is nuts. You can get a GREAT 720p pj for less than $700 bucks and who would want 1080p anyway unless you have HD DVD or Blue Ray.

However, you do NOT want to mount your pj a few feet from the screen. Go ahead and move it back to get the size you want and mount it there. You will not get any shadows unless someone walks in front of the screen, just like with regular TV.

Projection TV is awesome and you get WAY more for your money than with a conventional TV.

This really isn't possible. Now what you can look into is you can have a projector mounted straight above or below or behind the screen and use a mirror to reflect onto the screen creating rear projector and giving you some more options for placement but you still need the proper distance.

The image is going to be so wildly distorted at that location and distance that you are probably going to have to process it to distort it the other way. 120" (10') diagonal means the screen is about 6x8' so if the screen is vertical and the projector is 6' from the top, the bottom will be on the order of 9 feet away which is an awful keyhole.

Don't waste your money on a projection system unless you buy one capable of 720P or ideally 1080P resolution. Be prepared to spend over $6,000.00 just for the projector alone.
The room size is just too small for what you want in screen size.
The image will be too large and will make you feel as if you are sitting in the front row of a movie theater.
Use your hard earned money and buy the largest plasma display you can afford. Mount it approximately 5ft. from the floor or as high as you want and enjoy!!!
Who needs fuzzy, washed out movies that you get from a standard projector anyway.

Hi .If it is going to be ceiling mounted it should not matter with a long throw lens futher back from the front. If the ceiling is 8 feet high or higher how will people walking by interfere with the image?
