it could either be the type of soap your using or the type of water. you should check with a dermatoligist because you can be allergic to some of the ingredients in the soap. try something organic.

It could be the soap you are showering with or the water itself. I'm allergic to Ivory and itched badly every time I showered or bathed with it. After reading your question, I think it is most likely your bath soap. Try a gentle shower gel, use sparingly and rinse well. My 13 yr old granddaughter had the same problem with soaps, but can use Avon's Soft and Gentle bar soap and shower gel without the itchy after bath affect. Any Avon rep can order these products for you or you can order direct from myavon.com or purchase at an Avon store in the local mall. You can also try a gentle shower gel from Bath and Body works. I had problems with the Dollar Store shower gels so be careful of those. Don't buy the same brand shower gel as the bar soap that you are using, either as you will most likely still get the 'itchies' afterwards.

Perhaps an allergy toward the soap you are using.
If it is really that bothersome, then make an appointment with a dermatologist. They will be able to recommend a really gentle and non irritating soap or cleanser for your skin.
No need to go through this everytime you bathe.

Definitely try a type of milder soap. You don't necessarily have to go organic. Try something unscented, like Dove Unscented (I think the packaging may say something about sensitive skin). My family has been using it for years. We've found that frangrances in things (like soap and laundry detergent) bother us b/c so much goes into the product to make the certain smells.

Try using an unscented moisturizing soap like Lever 2000. Wash with your hands and not a cloth or sponge.

Either you have a soap residue on your skin, are allergic to the soaps you use or there is just something in your water. go to your doc and have them give you an allergy test.
