Navy, many but many various job types, from aviation to engineering, and then you get to see the world for free.

I have to thank the Navy for my engineering degree.

I joined the Air Force because all the old veterans I talked to said it was the best. These guys were prior service or retired Army and Navy so for them to tell me to join the Air Force meant allot.

Each branch offers the same basic pay and benefits. Some services offer a signing bonus if you agree to do certain jobs but money isn't a good reason to choose what service to join. It has been my experience that the Air Force takes better care of it's people and families.

Yeah, if you plan on joining, make sure you educate yourself and don't let recruiters sway you. I served 6 years in the Air Force and personally, I think it was the best being female. I have tons of friends in the Army and the Marines and the Air Force has the best educational benefits. They give you more money for school. Also, like the other person said, they treat their people better. Ask any active duty military person who is not in the Air Force. A lot of the time (Unless they are super gung ho) they will say that they wish they joined the AF because they treat family members better. If you plan on getting a degree, look into the ROTC program. Its much harder to go to school period being enlisted. If you go to ROTC, you will be an officer, get paid more, and have your degree done. Plus, if you don't want to make the military a career, you will already have a degree and it will help in finding you a job.

I joined the Navy because it provided a better opportunity for me. All branches have their good and bad points. It depends on the individual for which branch is right of him/her.

Knowing what I do now, if I had it to do all over again, I would STILL join the Corps!! Why not be a part of the most storied, tightly knit band of brothers the US military has to offer. Anything worth doing is worth doing well, and that means being the best. Besides, CHICKS DIG DRESS BLUES!!
