If you starve yourself and lose 10 lbs by Sept., it won't be just fat lost, it will be muscle also. Assuming you want to look normal, that is, to lose just fat, then you should plan to cut 1-2 lbs per week.

Redirect the energy you are spending on worrying, to being smart about how you lose weight. Do some research. Lose weight for you. A large part of worry is decision on your part. You can see things differently, more positively.

John is going to have to wait a bit longer. If he is superficial and rejects you over 10 lbs, then you have learned something valuable about his character.

Caution: one of the other messages has links to Jehovah's Witnesses Official Web Site. I've talked with some JW's before, they seemed like nice people, but that doesn't mean that their religious beliefs are correct. Be very cautious about any involvement. Check information critical of the JW's, easily found on the web, so you can be informed.

The best way to lose weight is to become more physically active and exercise. Cut back on calories but not to 500 a day! That is bad for your health. Your body needs a minimum of 1200 calories a day.

Yeah it's possible, but unhealthy. Don't listen to that guy or anyone else. It sounds like your already at a good weight for your height. Why ruin a good thing. Stay healthy and eat more. Remember fruit is good for you. You can eat the heck out of certain things and not gain weight. Like protein.

It is not a good idea to eat so little calories. If you continue to obsess over weight, you are at risk of developing anorexia. Please know that in severe cases of anorexia and not having enough calories, your condition can kill you with its complications. As for John, stop worrrying about him. Just focus on loving yourself, enjoying your life, eating healthily and keeping fit. People tend to be attracted to those with sunny dispositions and healthy looks. If he says that you are chunky, you wouldn't want a guy who is basing his opinion on merely looks.

Yeah, I would feel shitty eating so little too. Try eating 1500- 2000 calories of somewhat healthy food a day and exercise.

For your height / weight you are here: http://www.healthchecksystems.com/heightweightchart.htm
Actually right where you need to be for a SMALL framed girl. As for John...make him jealous with someone else and see how fast he thinks your 'not' chunky. Promise...it really works, OR you'll find someone who likes you for YOU.

You have low self-worth -&-esteem, & yearn to feel accepted by others. What you need to learn to do, is to accept yourself the way you are, with every one of your flaws. Only then can you begin to change them --however-- your changes should reflect that you accept, love, & respect yourself... A person who changes just to please a critic, has no self-respect, either. Until you can love yourself, no one else can.
This list of self-help on-line articles, I have found extremely valuable, & I think you might, too:
