Who ask them not to do it? They danced in Biblical days!
A few Christians doesn't make it the truth. . I know of a church
who has what they call a Praise Party and they play only christian music, and I see nothing wrong with it. Nobody is dancing dirty and it is a great way to reach out to the unbelievers.( alot of them attend regulary). The Pastor even has a short sermon.
I don't know anything about people throwing rock concerts. I have been to christian concerts to see famous christian artists and it was all for the glory of God.
And what is wrong with fashion events, Christians are not suppose to just sit in the house, go to church and back home.
Doesn't mean they are modeling offensive clothing.
Being a christian does not mean you have to live a boring life.
Stop Judging!

There's nothing in the Bible that says Christians can't dance with one another outside of wedlock, or that only Christian music is acceptable. Songs with immoral content are bad but not every secular song has immoral content. That is in the Bible but the thing about dancing must be a personal conviction of theirs to keep them pure. It's not a bad idea in that sense, but they shouldn't impose that conviction on anyone else because it's not in the Bible. There's nothing wrong with modeling or fashion events either as long as the clothing is modest. If it's immodest, then it's intended to cause other believers to stumble. In that case it's sinful (I think that's in Romans 12 but I'm not positive). There's nothing wrong with loud music either, if the intent is to glorify God, or at least if the music is innocent. The lyrics are the most important thing, not the style.

I am a Christian, and I have never heard of that. Granted some of the so-called "dance moves" today can be down-right embarassing to watch they are so lewd and vulgar, but I have seen Acquire The Fire concerts for teens and the kids are dancing and singing right along with the bands playing and it was wonderful & the teens were certainly fired up and enjoying themselves.
Biblically speaking, I remember King David danced and sang before the Lord often, so I do not know of any Biblical reference against dancing and singing.

Christians are allowed to dance. There is dancing in the Bible.
David danced for joy because of God. and David was a "man after God's own heart."
However dancing provocatively is not ok.
And not every Christian is going to live the way they are suppose to. Alot of people fall away and even though they accept Jesus into their heart, they still live in the world.
Hope ihelped ^_^

These are issues of legalism/liberalism. American Evangelical Christianity labled certain activities as "sinful" and others as forgivable around the turn of the century. So, in a modern day Southern Baptist church you can fornicate and concieve a child, repent, and be treated as a brother, but if you divorce your wife you are considered a pariah.
Most of this nonsense has nothing to do with the true faith. David danced naked before the Lord, so I don't think He would strike me down if I got giggy to an old K.C. and the Sunshine Band song ... seriously ....

yeah there's an old joke about (US Southern) Baptists:
why don't Baptists approve of sex before marriage?
they think it might lead to dancing.
ha ha. but seriously...
in the New Testament, the book of Galatians says:
5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like ...
note the vague term "revellings". some biblical Fundies think dancing is a sin, based on that.
I guess that's what you get when you look for morality in a 2000-year old book written by square, ignorant, mysoginist slave-owners.

If you think dancing in a disco or wherever will give glory to God then do it but I don't think it will bring glory to God.
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

A Christian is someone who in the least believes in the teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus never spoke about dancing. This is a rule created by people, not by Jesus.
I can assure you above all that all music is the work of God. Those of us who write music can only hope and pray to re-create it through the gift of hearing the music that God has given us.
