I had 4 roosters once, when i was younger. They were so sweet when they were little. But after they grew up,start to sing in the middle of the night waking the neighbors up and jumping from the balcony to walk around everyday, we had to send them to a village.

I have 3 dachshund girls -Brandy and Misha 11 and Brooke15 years old. I had a cat, Lovejoy for 19 years and sadly she passed away this January. She was a Sultana... my companion and guarding angel in the cold and scary nights in Ankara during College years and on.

There are two stray dogs in a shelter that I adopted. I can't go and see them since they are in Ankara but I make sure they are fed and groomed.

Of course I had rabbits, chicks, stray cats and dogs history and my flock of pigeons that ı used to feed every morning in my balcony in Ankara. When they came to get their food, the the whole house used to rattle:)

I can't imagine living without pets. There will always be at least a few in my house all my I am not afraid if I become the crazy cat lady of the neighborhood; I have a family history of doing that anyway, so I will just be another lunatic :D

I used to have many goldfish, I had a bird, and now I have two cats that are still alive and well.
MrsTIJones-That's awful. I just found a stray kitten yesterday at my uncle's house. She was SO adorable. The problem was that there was this big stray dog that kept trying to catch the poor thing. Everyone kept telling me it won't harm the kitten, but after your response, I don't believe so.

we had an Ankara cat. pure white. snowball.
she was soo cute, but very nasty.
she would sneak in our neighbours flat from the window, open the fridge ( yes she could open the fridge ), and eat the chicken. And leave the garbage ( the bones ) in the fridge.
if she wasn't that cute, our neighbours would have killed her...

and I have had many lovebirds. but the blonde one was my favorite. she could come and tell us whenever she was hungry. she was pretty smart, but she didn't have a habit of flying. she would rather walk on the ground, which caused her death. my brother stepped on her while he was looking for his glasses. I was just 6 years old when that accident happened.
I couldn't understand why she couldn't move. my mom had a real hard time to tell me about what death means. I used to think she went to heaven, full of lettuce... ;(

1 cat, 2 dogs, 2 water turtles and 2 goldfish, whose colors are anything but gold.

In my pet lover history, I've had chickens and roosters, Peking ducks, a rabbit, guinea pigs, parakeets and birds of paradise.

Did I ever mention that I'm a pet maniac? I'm holding myself not to adopt more, because I'm afraid somebody will drag me to therapy.

Thanks, Yabancikiz.

Edit: I forgot the land turtles! I've had a couple of land turtles, too.

Yes, two Dachshunds; now buried in the same yard in Lesotho, twenty years apart. Absolute happenstance because during the intervening time we had lived in over half a dozen countries.

i used to have Japan fishes (is it how we translate Japon balıkları), a water turtle, goldfish, chicks, ducks and lovebirds. At last i had a parrot but three years ago i gave it to someone else because i was going abroad now he doesn't want to come back because he is used to his new father :) so I'm planning to buy another baby parrot and a golden fish. I'd love to have a small dog as well but it is forbidden in our flat :(
