windows vista curious question?

how come i see laptops for sale at walmart with windows vista basic when the sys req says you need 1 gig?

Sys req for Vista basic are 1Ghz processor and 512MB RAM

All the systems at Walmart seem to meet these requirements.

You don't want Vista Basic.

These machines are not going to make you happy. Maybe grade school kids.

You can install it with less than that. I installed Ultimate on my desktop with only 512MB RAM.
The issue comes when you starts installing other applications, your system will really slows down sice Vista uses a big chunk of this.
