Ok i bought the microsoft office program and loaded it on my computer. That went fine, but then i moved the microsoft word and powerpoint files onto my desktop. Later, i decided i didn't want them on my desktop so i dragged them into the recycling bin and deleted them, since they were just short cuts. Now, however, i cant find where these programs are located on my computer. they arent under the microsoft office folder, and i tried doing a search and nothing turned up. i know they're still there because i can open up documents in word. any ideas on how/where i could find the programs?? thanks!

If you have Office 2007 the program files probably are in Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12. Anyway you can go to Start>Search and search for WINWORD.EXE and POWERPNT.EXE. When you find them copy one by one and paste as shortcut where you like.

Good luck :)

1. Why do you care where the program files are?

2. Launch the program from the Start Menu -> All Programs -> Microsoft Office ->name of program

3. Need the shortcuts to the programs back on your desktop? Right click and drag the item from the start menu, choose copy or create shortcut.

4. What version of Windows, and what version of Office? Files are in different locations depending on versions.

5.Use Windows Explorer and search for winword.exe - then look at the location in the details view.

In Windows, Click Start and then "All Programs" There should be folder labeled Microsoft Office. Open that and you can make shortcuts for whichever office programs you want.

Sounds like office didnt install correctly in the first place. Re-install the setup again, it should have a 'repair' option
