There are 3 major airline alliances.
Star Alliance, Sky Team, and One World.

One world is good because of the Australian airline Qantas.

The poster above has given a few good pointers already :) I can give you a rough amount in NZ$ for Star Round The World tickets if you like (not sure about the price in Australian Dollars though)

A normal Star RTW with lowest mileage would be round NZ$ 4300 (without taxes), which would allow you a good deal of stopovers. The Star Alliance website is a fun tool to play with when preparing a RTW trip because they have a mileage calculator and a trip planner. I am assuming other groups of airlines like One World will have something similar.Star also have a special for RTW fares at the moment, worth a look!

Here's another site to have a look at, if you like a bit of reading :)

Give me a shout if you need more info

investigate the airline alliance web content. they have tips with reference to the cost ticket pricing for international extensive itineraries. i exploit One international alliance with the aid of American airlines for my airline club and that i comprehend they have a gadget set up for the itinerary you purely proposed. this is in keeping with continents visited. further: in case you already know the outstanding dates and places you're traveling to and experience advantageous they gained't exchange (or exchange in simple terms as quickly as and you will pay the exchange fee) this is greater fee-effective to purchase person tickets from diverse airlines, yet once you elect flexibility then RTW tickets from alliances are greater suitable.
