Depends. If you need towing, Dodge Durango with a hemi= 8750 pounds when fully equided, and the Dodge Durango also has a comfortable third row seat. But if you are looking for decent fuel economy, probally Chevy Blazer. And yes, the Durango comes with a V6.

As an inexpensive choice for a small or midsize SUV, a second-generation Chevy Blazer might be worth a look. However, compared to other vehicles of the time, this Blazer was let down by average driving dynamics, middling comfort and poor crash test scores.

Definately go for the Blazer. The Blazer comes with the 4.3L Vortec V6 which is amazingly reliable and long lasting. It also gets good gas mileage for a suv. My neighbor has had 2 blazers - a '96 which got 275K miles on the original engine, and a '99 which he still has now. My parents have had the 4.3L engine in the two Astro vans that they owned and both got to over 200K without any major work. They are mileage kings. As for the Durango I would be wary of buying one of them. The Hemi power is nice but the gas mileage is crappy and I've heard some people have had reliability issues with theirs.

4.3 are hit and miss but like most everything. if u get a durango with a 4.7 liter then those are very powerful but arent very good with higher milage. if u get the 5.2 or 5.9 liter they are work horses u cant kill them. but the tranny isnt very good they do go out around 100k miles. the newer durangos not to sure but havent heard anything to bad yet. i have heard people with good blazers and bad ones. so those are hit and miss.

If you are looking at a used one, I would go with the Blazer... Dodge (until recently) had way too many problems with their transmissions....

I'd skip them both..... very unreliable cars and poorly built. Check out the Toyotas.
