in basic training for the army, they serve alot of different kinds of food. if you dont want the meat, they will give you two grilled cheese sandwiches instead of just one. or will accommodate you in some way. now as far as the MRE yes they do make the vegetarian ones but will you get maybe, maybe not. but you may be able to trade mre's with someone with one. i always traded off my vegetarian mre. most of the vegetarian ones come with candy. lol you can sell that for almost 10 bucks.ohh and by the way. you can always just eat the salad. they have a full salad bar. at least in relaxin Jackson.

Yes you can, although I am not one, just had a vegetarian MRE today. The service does do a lot to try and accommodate personal lifestyle choices as far as diet and religion, just realize there may be times you do not have a choice, every effort will be made to accommodate you in diet, but it is not mandatory.

Yes; you can. As was stated, they make vegetarian MRE's. Also, just on a funny side note, I was reading the Army Times a few issues back and apparently there was some sort of "cutest vegetarian/vegan" contest on the Internet and an Army vegan guy won it and they named him the "cutest vegan!" LOL...I thought that was kind of funny...

i can only speak for the navy, chow is so grosse underway that you dont have to worry about eating meat, you wont want to eat anything. in boot camp you have a bunch of choices, about 90% of the time there is fish of some sort, always veggies and salads and peanut butter.... lots and lots of PB&J.. i usually bring reserves for when i dont like what they are serving

Yeah you can be a veggie in the military. When you go to basic training though, you have to make sure that the TI / drill sgt knows.

I really don't think that the Military has developed any Vegetarian MRE's!
I guess you will just have to starve when deployed in Iraq and only issued regular MRE's.

You can certainly join but don't expect the service to bend over backwards to accommodate you.
