How does cruise insurance work? We have a cruise scheduled for next week and didn't buy insurance. What happens if it's cancelled?

If the cruiseline cancels the cruise you will be reimbursed. If the ship can leave port, and the ports you are scheduled to stop at are damaged to the extend that the ship can't get in, the ship will just change the itenirary and your ports will change.

The insurance covers you if your flights are delayed, accidents getting to the port, you have to cancel for sickness or death in the family, lost luggage, emergency medical bills while out of the country, etc. But for cancellations due to weather that the cruiseline cancels, you will either receive a full refund or a chance to rebook at a later date.

if its a cruise thats longer like 7 day or more i would suggest buying insurance. If something happened on your cruise you would have a better chance to recover your money you spent for tickets (from the cruise line) if you had insurance.

If the cruise line cancels the cruise, then you will get a refund.

If the cruise line cancels you get your money back. If something happens that you miss the ship or an emergency happens , then you just lost all your money.

1stoptravel, do coverage for cruises. The trip ins you will already have for flying/trip to the cruise won't disguise it sluggish on the cruise. in case you have an twist of destiny and could be airlifted off the deliver, you will spend something of your existence procuring that value
