I understand your views on this issue and agree with you. You should not have to be labeled as a racist simply because you desire for your cultural traditions to be upheld. Foreigners visiting your land should respect the ways of that land. Period. And those who wish to stay must be expected to live by the laws and traditions, they must assimilate to you, your land, laws , and traditions, NOT the other way around.

Hi there! Although I am not a citizen of the UK ( I'm an American) I can certainly empathize with your fustration.
I was raised by parents who taught me to embrace others, and to be interested in ALL cultures, to NEVER judge another person by the color of their skin or their family name or religion. If EVERY parent endowed their child with these same ideals, we'd have NO problems these days.
Unfortunately, what has happened is that parents who lived through adversity passed on the (legitimate) resentment they felt twards the cultures who had oppresed them for generations to their children.
These children through cultural, governmental and societal enlightenment ARE NOT VICTIMS OF THE SAME OPPRESSION, but still hold the same resentment twards the peoples and governments who oppressed their ancestors.
I have been the victim of racism throughout my life, but because I'm caucasian, it doesn't matter. Those peoples who we have come to consider as "minorities" have reserved the idea of racism as uniquely their own. It has become a double standard to the point where the idea of a caucasian being a victim of racism is laughable.
Your fustration is similar to that felt by caucasians in the US. Most of our ancestors had yet to come to this country when slavery was still legal, however we are still seen as the oppressors, the majority and evil. Preferential employment placement and government assistance are given to minorities, who in this day in age, have NEVER been victims of racism. Infact they have only BENEFITED from a government- guilt stricken over the racist views and actions of it's predecessors which has bent over backwards to make amends.
In the UK, it is apparent that you are going through much the same thing because of the vast colonial empire held by Great Britian in the past. That's why your cities (and other major European cities) are teeming with foreigners, who hate you, don't speak the language, don't want to either, don't respect the citizens or their government, but still feel entitled to benefit from it's socio-economic and legal system.
In other words, "The sins of the father". But who's to say? It's HUMAN NATURE to conquer, and just because we did it first, does not make us any more deplorable than those who would've done it sooner, had they had the means.
Be afraid my friend. We live in an age where while you are told you are the "majority" and that you have all the advantages in life, YOU ARE REALLY THE MINORITY, and you are not entitled to the same assistance that others are.
Be informed, be articulate, use spell check. Your best defence in this day in age is your intelligence.

I don't think it's racist either. Maybe just 'puritan??"
But the world has changed, my friend. It's becoming bigger and bigger and a lot more mobile. So unfortunately, the days you speak of, where traditions were never broken, are coming to a close faster and faster. I think they call it progress. Or in some circles, "immigration problems." It depends on which side of the fence you are looking at it from.
One more thing I would like to add...you can hardly blame THEM for wanting to immigrate. If you lived in their country, you would only want to give yourself and your family the best possible options in life. And most immigrants come from such poor countries, it's no wonder they take the leap when the opportunity arises. Here in the US, we are having a major debate over the Mexican border. I think the real issue lies within the impoverished country. If we want to prevent so many from jumping ship, we need to teach those countries how to take care of their own, or give them a helping hand to do so.
There is no easy answer, sorry to say.

I agree with you 100%. The situation is terrible over here also.
We were lucky here in Usa this time as we the "American"voters told our senators and congressmen to reject Bush's amnesty proposal.
I also don't judge people by the way they look but a country's culture and way of life should be preserved against foreign invasion of people who only want to bring their customs culture and language with them.
My answer is if you want to maintain your language and culture and customs then they should stay in their own country.
There is an old saying here in America. It goes like this: When in Rome do as the Romans do.
The saying is self explanatory.
Here also many Americans are pushed to the side and there are many hundreds of thoudsands of "homeless" Americans while foreign immigrants are given places to live and food stamps and social services and a chance to get jobs also.
What a shame that the American government allows illegal immigrants to remain here and gives them everything that they need so that they can work for those low paying jobs.
They can work for low wages because the government gives them benefits that they will not give poor Americans. So if the poor American works for a low salary the govt will not help them maintain a place to live of give them help. That is why they (the Americans poor ones) cannot work. Can you iomagine the irony or working a minimum wage job and not haivng enough money to rent an apartment (flat as they say in UK)
Here also the foreigners show contempt for my country as last year they had a stay at home day and did not go to ork and waved millions of Mexican and other foreign flags and compalianing of how bad it is here in America and how they are exploited. Well if they don't like it here then they can always leave and go somewhere else.
I also don't want my traditions diluted. We no longer consider Veterans day an important holiday and the two gereatest presidents that USA had (George Washingon and Abraham LIncoln) no longer have a holiday for each one but they are grouped into a generic celebration called presidents day and now the immigrants are trying to push for a national recognition of Cinco de Mayo which is a Mexican holiday and not an American holiday.
So I understand how you feel. It would be better if the people who came to America would adopt our customs since they came to America.
But I also think it is the fault of the American govt who insists on not protecting it's own citizens. This govt is crazy because they refuse to protect America's borders and yet they spend billions of dollars to be in Iraq where the USA has no legal right in the world to be. I think the govt should protect it's own citizens here and dolve the problem here in USA and not go buting into other countries affairs.
Those are my views.

Actually, assuming that a foreigner is either here to, as you say, "commit terrorism, crime or just sponge off the state" - based purely on the fact that they're not british - IS racist, and xenophobic.
QED.

I totally agree with all you say, although I am like you and don't judge people by their skin colour only by the crimes they commit, but the dangers crimes like car bombs etc are all committed by Asian or African people so I am starting to judge them all the same. In today's paper there was a polish guy who didn't trust our NHS and was going home to Poland for dental treatment - that goes to show he has no long term plans on living in the UK, only here to save some money and then go home

"we've examine those passages and their linked passages for some years. we've considered what the words say and characteristic suggested to ourselves, "definite, it says that, yet we could desire to confirm out of it the taking of the gospel and the advantages of the temple to the ***** human beings, because of the fact they are denied particular issues." There are statements in our literature by the early Brethren that we've interpreted to intend that the Negroes does not get carry of the priesthood in mortality. I particularly have suggested an identical issues, and individuals write me letters and say, "You suggested such and such, and how is it now that we do such and such?" All i can assert is that it incredibly is time disbelieving human beings repented and have been given in line and believed in a residing, present day prophet. forget approximately each and everything that I particularly have suggested, or what President Brigham youthful or President George Q. Cannon or whoever has suggested in days previous it particularly is opposite to the present day revelation. We spoke with a constrained information and with out the mild and understanding that now has come into the international. We get our reality and mild-weight line upon line and concept upon concept (2 Ne. 28:30; Isa. 28:9-10; D&C ninety 8:11-12; 128:21). we've further a clean flood of intelligence and mild-weight in this actual project, and it erases each and all of the darkness and each and all of the perspectives and each and all of the concepts of the previous. they don't count anymore. It does not make a particle of distinction what anybody ever suggested pertaining to to the ***** count before the 1st day of June 1978. it incredibly is a clean day and a clean association, and the Lord has now given the revelation that sheds mild out into the international in this project. As to any slivers of sunshine or any debris of darkness of the previous, we forget approximately approximately them. We now do what meridian Israel did whilst the Lord suggested the gospel ought to circulate to the Gentiles. We forget approximately each and all of the statements that constrained the gospel to the homestead of Israel, and we start up going to the Gentiles." Elder Bruce R. McConkie

Racist is a label they (the haters of our country) use to shut us up and don't do anything.
Unfortunately those responsible for the bombardments of aliens are our very own government that allow all this craziness to happen.
I cannot help but feel a conspiracy going on. The Australians, British, USA, and many other develop country have the same problems with these types of people coming into our countries. Many of them are haters of the very country, culture, and language they have invaded. Yet our government does nothing and expect us to welcome them with open arms. CRAZY!

I agree, it knocks me sick that there is a muslim preacher who stands on his pulpit in London every day preaching about how we are all infidels who will burn in hell, he also gets a free house and benefits, refuses to work in case it benefits the British economy, and the government and DSS allow him to get away with it. Then go to any inner city area and there are swarms of immigrants from Sub Saharan Africa who all have houses, designer clothes, cars, yet say the government doesnt give them enough money. They also have all these cars on the road with no insurance, mot, etc etc
