There are many ways to say thank you.
domo : ã©ã- This would be used simple situations where you don't want to be too formal.
arigatou gozaimasu: ãããã¨ããããã¾ããthis is much more formal. way of saying Thank you.
There are also lots of variations. You could say:
1) domo arigatouï¼ã©ããããã¨ã
2) arigatouï¼ãããã¨ã
3) domo arigatou gozaimasuï¼ã©ããããã¨ããããã¾ã
4) domo arigatou gozaimashitaï¼ã©ããããã¨ããããã¾ããfor thanking someone for something done in the past.
okini : this is thank you in the Kansai Region of Japan (which includes Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe)
sankyuuä¸ä¹: this is slang for saying thank you. It actually just the numbers 3 and 9 which sounds like "thank you" to Japanese people. I'm not sure how many people would still say this. .

http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en is a better place to go to translate sentences instead of asking everytime. Note* you need a Japanese language pack or all you will see is a bunch of question marks because your system can't recognize the language. Have fun translating.
