>Hair color is the result of pigmentation due to the presence of the chemicals eumelanin and pheomelanin. In general, the more melanin present, the darker the hair color; the less melanin, the lighter the hair color. Black hair predominates outside of Europe. A person's hair color may also change over time and may be more than one color at a time.

>There are two types (three subtypes) of pigment that give hair its color: Eumelanin (black and brown) and pheomelanin. Eumelanin is black and brown and pheomelanin is red.

The amount of eumelanin in hair determines the darkness of its color. A low concentration of brown eumelanin in the hair will make it blond, whereas more brown eumelanin will give it a brown colour. Much higher amounts of black eumelanin will result in black hair, and a low concentration of black eumelanin in the hair will make it gray.

All humans have pheomelanin in their hair. Pheomelanin is more chemically stable than black eumelanin, but less chemically stable than brown eumelanin, so it breaks down more slowly when oxidized. This is the reason bleach will cause darker hair to turn reddish brown during the artificial coloring process. As the pheomelanin continues to break down, the hair will gradually become orange and, later, yellow.

TREATMENT:-
1)Massage amla oil on head, one hour before u take bath.

2)While it is true that hair dyes contain chemicals that may damage your hair in the long run, that does mean that there is no hope for people with gray hair. Our very own Mehendi is a very good alternative. Further if used properly, it will not give your hair the traditional red colour. Here are a few pointers to help you colour gray hair the right way. First of all always use Mehendi of a good quality.

Soak mehendi overnight in an iron vessel and then use it the other day.

For jet black hair, soak Amla overnight and then add this to the mehendi paste and keep this overnight in an iron vessel. Apply it the next day.

Wrap a cloth around your shoulders and use gloves to apply mehendi in order to avoid soiling your clothes. Take care that mehendi does not touch your ears or face, or else the colour won't go for some days.

For best results, do not shampoo your hair after applying mehendi. Rinse your hair with plain water.

3)Dark Secret:
The rind of six green oranges, 1 cup sunflower or maize oil, 1 cup 'amla' powder that has been burnt until ashen in an iron vessel. Cover peels and 'amla' powder with oil and steep for three months. After which, strain and comb oil through hair, cover with a shower cap and leave on for an hour. Do this once a week and watch your hair darken.

hi sanju! amla hair oil is very good for our hair. you can even use castor oil for the thickness of your hair...firstly get your hair trimmed so that there are no split ends. next take exactly 1 table spoon of castor oil and heat it till you see vapour from it. let it cool down. then add exactly 1 table spoon of coconut hair oil and mix it and then apply it and sit for about 5-6 minutes and then take a nice head bath with a fruit shampoo. this will naturally give you black hair.

The sun damages the hair like it damages your skin. Thus, Start using a leave-in conditioner on your hair which will protect your hair from the sun. As of now get your hair trimmed regularly

go to your local salon and get a a color glaze (toner) it will only grab the lighter peices and put the black back in your hair and add extreme shine to the rest of your hair. trythe hair cuttery they use shades eq, and i love the shades eq because its naturally conditioning. trust me you will love it. make sure you get the 1b. naturally black hair has a tint of blue to it when youstep out into the sun. but your stylist can tell you more. the glaze should only run you about 29$..theywill try to rip you off. so watch your pockets!

Okay. Lots of people ask questions like this on here and this is what I think:

They make hair dye because it is the only thing that works. There is no magical pill or home remedy that you can use. The only solution is.... dye your hair!!!

i read in a magazine once that if you have black hair and dont want it fading in the sun then wash it like once a week with coffee grounds(i dont know if it works) and if you have red hair then strawberry kool-aid and lemon kool-aid for blonde, so maybe you should give the coffee grounds a try.
