Only you can answer that - but hey if you don't try you will never know. Personally I think it is a great idea to move ... and hey, you can always spend a few years here then go back. Nothing is set in stone.

Australia has a lot of opportunities that don't exist in NZ.
The public transport is better, the wages are higher and they have schools for our kids that cater to their individual dreams.
If they are interested in Sports or Performing Arts there are High Schools here that can develop those talents.
The lifestyle here can be hectic if you let it sweep you up but if you hold onto your values then it shouldn't be a problem.
Since i've been here i've found opportunities to do things that i couldn't have dreamed of when i lived in NZ.
If your content with what you've got then stay there. If you have that drive for more then this is a great place to unleash that drive.

I am the opposite to you. I moved to nz from australia. I wouldn't move if I were you but then again if it is to further your skills australia offers a lot.

It is really up to you

I just suggested not coming to Australia because of it's poor internet/technology (at least for moderate to power-users).

Other than that, it's a nice place to live; petrol is a little expensive (but where isn't it?).

For your reasons (sport, business, parenting), it would be a a great place to live. :)

I live in Sydney, and I enjoy it a lot. :)
