This occured to me today. Hubby came in the house all sweaty and I said, "Eww, honey you stink!" Then although I make a point of smelling nice, even just around the house, sometimes I can get sweaty too. If he told me the same, in the same way, I don't know how I would take it. If the woman in your life was smelling a little raw, out of the ordinary, would you tell her that she had bad odor and how would you tell her?

I'd say something like " Honey, I love you, but your stench could knock a buzzard off a sh*t wagon" ...then run.

Hope you don't mind my answering even though I'm not a man... I just can't resist. LOL!
Me and hubby always tell each other when we smell like crap, LOL, but it isn't a big deal to us. We're just comfortable enough to do so.
I'll share a bit of personal info-
For whatever reason, in recent years, my husband has been having a bad breath problem. And I've been having a foot odor problem. Sometimes it's horrible. There are times when I hold my breath while simply giving hubby a "peck". And there are times when he asks me to put my socks on while cuddling or doing "other" things. Sometimes we tell each other straight up, "You STINK." Sometimes we give hints... For example, I might ask him if he's brushed his teeth yet. And, other times, we joke... He may, for instance, ask if I've been masterbating with my toes. LOL! (I know... That was graphic... Sorry. âº)
Anyway, my point is that we don't think it's something to be nervous or scared about, and I don't think anyone else should be nervous or scared either. (Not saying that YOU are... I'm just running my mouth.) One of the things that I love most about being with the same person for so long is being so unbothered- being so open and honest- not caring about the things that we might worry about with/around others (but still loving, and "digging", each other just as much as in the beginning). It's awesome.
My husband could come home from work today smelling like death. No biggie. I might tell him to jump his stinky a*s in the shower; and he'd joke with me by saying something like, "Ok then, be that way... No sex for you today." LOL
EDIT: I just read General Disarray's answer (the first answer). I'd choose him for best answer if I were you. His answer is one for the books. Gotta LMAO at that one. âº

I would rather have my partner tell me if I ever get to the point where people can smell me. Would you rather have him tell you of an odor problem or a complete stranger? Personally I would rather have my loved one tell me I smell than a complete stranger, but that's just me. If I smelt that bad and my loved one didn't tell me I would be upset that he didn't tell me. But if you can smell yourself it is definitely time to shower, although every woman knows you are to shower daily.

My hubby would most defintely tell me - thankfully, this has not happened yet LOL! I would be angry at him if I did stink and he didn't tell me out of fear of hurting my feelings.
I always tell my hubby if he is getting a bit whiffy (he does lots of exercise) as we are both very honest if not blunt and to the point people. No good beating around the bush is there?

I would tell him up front. I would rather be the one to tell him than having him walk around and have others saying that he stinks. I guess it would hurt less if your loved ones tell you rather than have a complete stranger or a colleague telling you. Worst, they might not tell you but talk behind your back or start avoiding you.

The girlfriend of my best buddy would not bathe. One day while were all hanging out doing whatever he just yelled out to her, will you just take a bath damn it!! Wash yourself. Of course she was not happy he said that. About a week later she ended up in the ER. I took my buddy over to see her. She had a bad infection, which turned out to be caused by her keeping in her tampon for 6 months. I about threw up when I heard that. They divorced a short time later. See it could be worse!!
