My mother is an angel, she really is, and I adore her, but we can clash if we spend too much time together, she was itching to do something for the wedding and as she lives so far away it can make it hard to get her involved, in the end we asked her to make the invites for us, it took her a month and she loved it, then we asked her to think about favours for us, she spent the next week or so researching favours, then we asked her to look at cakes and come up with ideas for us, which she did, she keeps asking for tasks to do so she feels involved so we are giving her any of the little chores that take up a lot of time and that she can do even though she does not live near me.

How about the wedding favors, centerpieces and possibly the decorations for the reception hall? Maybe she can be in charge of picking up the cake (if you caterer is not handling that for you.) Or writing out the place cards for the reception.

There really are so many things she can help you with I am sure you can keep her busy!

We got married about 3 months ago and my momma helped with the invitations, the centerpeices and decor, and tons of little shopping trips. She helped me make the big decisions and I felt comfortable running my options past her and receiving good input without pressuring me one way or the other.

It all depends on your momma! What is she good at? Give her a project in something she excels in... Like my cousins momma made all the bridesmaid dresses and the wedding dress...amazing seamstress.

I'm sure you can find something perfect for her to help with!

My mother made the pillows for the ring bearers. She used her mother's handmade lace and stitched the pillows.

My MIL had all the rsvp cards mailed at her house for the final count. She was in charge in making the master list and who was eating steak etc.

Have her help find appropriate hotels for outside guests

Buy a cake cutter
