It's fine (hey- whats worse is liking a guy with the same name as your father... of course, my friend liked a guy with the same name as her step dad at that time too)
chances are your brother has a common name. Our dad's name's were Patrick and Steven, so we are bound to find people with the same name in our lives.

Unless you have a pet name for your brother you are tempted to use on others, I don't see the problem. The boy has to have some name - why not the same name as your bro? It's a perfectly good name, isn't it? Can't you find a version that is just for him? David = Dave, Davy, D ??? You get the picture
(Or maybe don't talk to your brother for a while)

Its only weird if you allow it to be weird. You are looking too deep into and its just plain silly really. If you feel so freaked out by it then don't date the guy and find someone who doesn't share a family trait. Stop stress over something that doesn't even make sense.

Either call ur brother a nickname, or dont bother going out with them. Ur right, it's too weird. I might've married a guy with my cousin's name, but he said no. Upon thinking about it later, I'm glad I dodged that bullet...his name was one of the reasons.

I have dated guys with the same name before. I have dated two Roberts and two Anthonys but not my brother's name. that would feel weid, creepy and would make me feel soo uncomfortable.
So, I mean, if you really like him and he treats you well, then I think that is great but if you are just dating him and there is nothing there, go as far away as you can from him.

Either be mature enough to get over it or move on. It's not the complicated... your brother is your brother and your boy is your boy. Pretty simple to keep straight... but if it bothers you so much then move on to the next guy until you find one that doesn't have your bros name.

I'm marrying the man with the same name as my brother, and it's not as weird as you'd think, really. I don't think his name should have anything to do with dating him.

i surely am. My fiance and brother have a similar call and its no longer unusual to me in any respect. Its a popularity, its in comparison to they're a similar individual because of the fact they proportion a similar call. i hit upon it to be silly to jot down off a individual who must be "the only" or the terrific individual for you because of the fact they have a similar call as a sibling. My fiance is the terrific element that ever occurred to me. He has helped me by way of difficult circumstances and enjoyed me by way of all my faults and by no potential as quickly as made me sense like much less then the main mandatory individual to him. And to think of that i could by no potential have had it in my existence merely because of the fact him and my brother have a similar call, frightening theory.

Because like you could be on the phone with one of the guys and like say his name and your brother will come.lol. Thats happen to me before.
And plus there is no way that you will forget their names.lol.
Best advice is to give them nicknames. It helps like uber much!
