well here was my situation, since my bf was a jerk to me last week...

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ar5LamBcx6ZqFScRpkClUsfty6IX?qid=20070814135025AAxTOxK

and i tried to call him, he was avoiding me..and wouldn't call me back, so my friend called me and called him and gave him the phone so i could break up with him...it was a crappy way to break up with him but i COULDNT get him in person and we wouldn't answer my calls.

well, before i did it i was just so angry with him for lying and being a jerk to me, but now that i broke up with him (which he deserves) i feel bad about how bummed he is..

so my question is..why do i feel so bad? he was a jerk and got what was coming, so why don't i just feel relieved instead of guilty??

thanks for answering.

Because you are a better person than he is. You don't like hurting people, even when they deserve it.

sweetie, you did the right thing. dont go back now or he will know he can do it over and over again and you wont do anything. let him be upset. he deserved it. the guilt you feel is from the love that was there. your first instinct is to kiss his pain away because your a good person and dont want to hurt anybody. but the question is: is what he did forgiveable? if not, either be a friend but not close, or ignore him and get on with your life.

you probably feel bad because you probably cared about him because no matter how bad he treated you you still cared about him to start off with because you were dating in the first place don't let him get you down just try to move on or ask him why he was treating you so badly and if he wants a second chance and you truely belive he changed then give him a second chance but if that doesnt work just end it for good but just remeber you dumped him but hes the one who was being a jerk so you are really at no fault

The same thing happened to me with my girlfriend. She started acting all wierd then she dumped me out of the blue. Then, two weeks later she realized that she still loved me and she came back into my open arms. That was six months ago. Just let him think about it and in about another three or four days call him and talk to him about it, i'm sure he will be willing to listen if he is really bummed out. Just give it a try...

You still love him. Or at least like him. This doesnt mean you should go out with him again though. Quite the contrary. You need to getover it. Love is the most difficult thing in the world.

You feel bad for him because you had/have feelings for him and those take awhile to dissipate. But, sympathy aside, if you still feel convinced his behavior warranted breaking up with him, then you've learned an adult lesson very well...I would keep the break up permanent.

He was avoiding you for a reason, so leave it alone. Move on with your life and forget him. You say he is a jerk, he probably is and will not change. Thats the best thing for you, to leave him alone and move on.

stop calling him if hes obviously not going to pick up, if he doesnt want to get this over with then dont even lift a finger, just go on with your life and break up that way, since he told everyone else HE broke up with YOU then.....youre already sepearted!! he sounds very immature!!

Obviously you still care for him, and it hurt you as much as it hurt him to break up. Just goes to show that you have a soul.

I am not sure. You will have to stop him and find out his true feelings, and yours, too. After that, you will feel better.

God Bless
