The Mayans said TIME will end in 2012, not the world. However, I'm not Mayan and I don't believe this. I suppose the world will end within a few hundred years, at the rate we are polluting the earth, the atmosphere won't be able to take it anymore.

oh you hav no idea how funny that is to me! 2012..23?! hahaha..ya i just watched that movie sry. My opinion. The world will end when it ends..Theres no for sure way of knowing. I mean why would it end at a deadline? Arent we like not supposed to kno when? Bc if we did everyone would become Christians at the last minute..I mean the whole point is like having faith so..how does that make sense? I think it could either end in our life time or hundreds of yrs from now..but looking at all the crap going on in this world you kinda think itd be soon, ya? but im not obsessing over it. i thought everyone was wackos when they panicked at the millinium. (the real millinium was 2001 anyways)..so no need to worry now. besides id kinda rather be left behind..i really dont want to miss the action..x_X

The sun will go red giant in a few billion years, so you probably won't have to worry about it.

And 2012 only means transitional period in Maya calendar. People like to think it means world ending, but really just is about change to new era or epoch. They had a cyclical system and to satisfy the religious idealogy had to account for transience of human life form and hope for transfer to better place as all religions do.

This is a fear that religion has been using for thousands of years. and it never becomes true. They never speak about the failed predictions of a hundred, five hundred and a thousand years ago when they were preaching , "The End is Near". Religion just forgets about that and then starts in all over again with, the end is near stuff. Religion doesn't want the World to end because it would shut off the donations and make them obsolete.

According to the bible the world will never end. (Ecc 1:4). God created the earth not in vain but to be inhabited(Isaiah 45:18). One day the righteous will inherit the earth and live on it forever (Psalm 37:10,11,29 and Proverbs 2:21,22) God will take away all the things that make people suffer (Rev. 21:1-4)Can you imagine a world without death, oppression, crime, violence...that would definitely be a "new world" where righteousness dwells (2 Peter 3:13)

Don't let the History Channel or the Discovery Channel frighten you. I remember when they ran a whole series about Nostradamus narrated by Orson Wells. It was back in the 1980's. I remember Orson Wells with his deep dark voice telling us when the entire world would be consumed by a nuclear holocaust. He looked menacingly right into the camera and said...

1999. Oh, well!

In about five billion years, the sun will expand into a red giant and engulf the inner planets. By that time, terrestrial life, if it is to survive, will have had to inhabit other worlds.

Anybody thinking 2012 isn't really thinking. A billion is a thousand times a million.

2012 is the end of the Mayan calendar, and many people believe that means it is the end of the world. I personally don't think that is what it means at all. It might mean the end of an era, or the end of an astrological age. It could mean nothing at all, but I think it is the end of one era and the beginning of another one. I don't believe the world will end for eons yet. *sm*

There has been many who has said its this year and that year. Someone is going to luck up and get it right one day. The end is not for awhile. We who are saved have not been caught up to meet Jesus in the air. Then the Tribulation is 7 years long, and then a war, and then Christ comes and bounds satan for a 1000 years. So it be awhile.
