I have just always heard people say "Go to a justice of the peace" which led me to believe that you are to go to them, not the other way around.

If I could avoid getting a "preacher" it would be a plus. But I just want someone to come to our wedding.

You should be able to find a justice of the peace or officiant that will marry you wherever you want to be married.

I was married by a JP in the place of my choosing.

Good luck!

if you call around some justice of the peace will go to a local park for a fee on a sat or sun or you can ask a local wedding planner if they have any advice or suggestions

I think you can go to the Justice of the Peace and talk to one of the judges there and ask if they can marry you at your residence or wherever you are having your wedding at. See how much it would cost and such and go from there. There are judges who would do that.

I had a judge come to my house and marry us. It was terrific. You can ask a Justice of the Peace to marry you wherever you want. There may be a small fee involved. Congrats.

I got married by a JOP at the courthouse, but in our area they also do non religious civil ceremonies at other venues. My suggestion would be to call the nearest courthouse and see what the procedure is in your area.

Where are you located? There are many Officiants that will come to your place and marry you. These weddings are legal in all states.

You would go to a courthouse, you can usually get a preist or pastor sometimes who will marry people at weddings even if you don't attend their church you usually pay them or donate to their church.
