according to legend, Adam was first given Lillith, who refused to lie under him and was cast aside, and by some cultures even called demon, so I guess he thought he had better stop with Eve because he didn't know what else he may create. Just my penny's worth.

He didn't condemn her to breed. Adam and Eve were told to multiply and fill the earth BEFORE they sinned, childbirth became painful after her sin. Another thing, no one is innocent. We have free will. We can choose to accept or reject God. He doesn't forece Himself on anyone.

You're wrong in assuming that "breeding" began as a punishment for man's sin. "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." (Gen 1:28)

It never really happened that way. Just a way for the men who wrote the bible to be sexist and keep women lower than them.
