A professional masseuse will have towel ling to cover you. You can leave underwear on. I had a massage in Bali years ago. My first professional. I took all my clothes off, because I didn't know any better. It nearly killed me with embarrassment. (remnants of upbringing) Lucky it was a woman. I remember feeling ridiculous because her face came up to my boobs when I stood up. But yay what a wonderful massage. Relax and enjoy.

Hi there,
It will be fine, don't worry! Most places will allow you to customize the experience to your liking. You can undress to whatever your comfort level is, although if you leave your bra on the straps may get in the way. You will always be draped and "private areas" covered at all times.
The masseuse will probably want to talk to you at the beginning to ask about any problem areas, areas to avoid, areas that need special attention, etc. Some are very talkative and like to strike up a conversation during the massage itself. I don't really like that and prefer not to talk while I am getting massaged (half the time I fall asleep!). I don't think it too much matters whether you go on an empty stomach or not, but I would recommend not eating right before the massage just for comfort, since you will be lying on your stomach for at least part of the time. Make sure to use the restroom before the massage so you don't have to go afterwards, and be sure to drink plenty of water afterwards to re-hydrate yourself.
As for any specific "dos and don'ts," I don't think there are any. Some places may have a larger locker room where you get changed, and you should obviously follow standard locker room etiquette (don't stare, etc.!), and other places will have you get undressed right in the massage room (they will leave the room, and knock before re-entering).
The biggest piece of advice is not to be nervous! Getting a massage is a nice, relaxing experience, but you have to get yourself in the right mindset first. Have fun!

You should make sure you have something in your stomach before you go and also make sure you have had enough water. Also make sure you drink water afterwards as well and move around a bit. You'll have to get down to just your underpants, but you will be covered on the massage table by towels at first anyway.
I have massages all the time. You just have to find someone you trust. Nice music and chatting is also a good thing.

Getting a massage is one of the best things to make you feel better, & just for pampering. I get them on a regular basis to help with the pain of arthritis & carpal tunnel. I always get naked because it just works better that way, & they keep you covered with a sheet anyway. I don't eat beforehand, just a personal preference. I do have one funny story. My first massage was at a massage school in a resort town. I took all my clothes off because I thought that was what you were supposed to do. Later, I told my friend who went with me that I felt kind of weird being naked. My friend said," Debbie, the guy was legally blind!" After awhile, getting naked didn't bother me. As long as you go to a professional place who employ professional people, you have nothing to worry about. Just enjoy it!

Normally what a professional Therepuetic Massage Therapist will tell you is to undress to your comfort level. I had a woman as a Massage Therapist, so I completely got undressed. She kept me covered with a sheet constantly so I was never exposed. If you are not comfortable getting undressed at all, take a T-shirt and shorts with you and change into those.
There are table massages and chair massages. I am assuming you are getting a table massage. For a chair massage, no on is usually unclothed.
You do not have to talk to the person doing the massage. Just at the beginning, say, I am going to try to sleep. This way he / she won't try to carry on a converation with you.
They are very wonderful; relax and I am sure you will enjoy it.

You should let the place know if you would perfer a woman or a man giving you a massage, whichever you are more comfortable with. I would talk to the masseuse, if not to chat, to let them know what feels good and what doesn't. Eat something light, you don't want to be stuffed or starving. You can take off or leave on whatever clothes you want.
Tell them it's your first massage and they should be more than happy to make you comfortable.

Reputable masseuses will maintain your modesty and dignity. You should have towels there to cover what you want covered. This person, like your dates, should not touch what your swimsuit covers. The conversation can be casual or can be nothing at all. I do not know that eating or not eating before makes much difference. I have had only one and I have no funny stories about that time.

It's no big whoop - I assume you are going to a registered therapeutic masseuse and not a storefront sex surrogate...you can keep your underpants on and they don't go near your privates - don't talk to the masseuse much - just relax and listen to the new age music they will likely play - it feels good to just let yourself go.

You don't have to get completely naked if you don't want, they will not force that...if they do they have problems. And you don't have to talk, but you can let them know if they are doing something you don't want. Remember they are providing a service that you are paying for! And don't forget to tip.
