Mexico deports thousands of Central American migrants
” Thousands? That can’t be. President Bush told that it is impossible to deport that many people.”What a bunch of hypocrites Mexican authorities are. It is OK for them to deport illegals but not the US???? Just what is wrong with that picture?Oh, I am LOVING it. Mexico is dealing with thousands of poor, unwanted MIGRANTS who are streaming in. Let’s see THEIR compassion. I wonder if they will give them Food Stamps, free housing, open arms, free education, free medical care. Maybe they will give them part of Chaipas? I bet maybe it was once THEIRS. Let’s see if the Mexican Prez shows President Bush how to really do it right.

MEXICO CITY: The closure of an American-run railroad in Mexico stranded thousands of U.S.-bound Central American migrants near the Guatemala border and many of them were deported Wednesday by immigration authorities.

Some camped along rail lines waiting for trains that will never come. Others tried to walk hundreds of kilometers (miles) to the next working rail line and some turned themselves in to Mexican authorities.

The government sent hundreds of federal police and soldiers Tuesday to clear out the migrants, who for decades have hopped freight cars on the Chiapas-Mayab railway. The company has run freight trains on two sets of tracks in southern Mexico — one that passes near Guatemala's northern jungle, and another that goes from the Guatemalan border up the western coast. In late July, the Connecticut-based Genesee & Wyoming Inc. withdrew from a 30-year concession to operate the Chiapas-Mayab line.

Company spokeswoman Jeanette Rosado said damage to railway tracks caused by a 2005 hurricane forced the pullout. She also said rail workers had been assaulted, and that train-hopping migrants delayed operations and cost the company money.

not only hypocritical, the Mexican government encourages their unskilled ppl to come here and provide a pamphlet in comic book form and gives advice to them.

yes they have very strict immigrations laws and yes they are a buffer.

i do not agree that it should cost millions to deport them, if corporations would not hire them and if landlords would not rent to them without valid papers then they would go back on their own accord and at their own expense. IMO

two points:

1. It's not the hypocrisy of Mexican authorities since they don't care if Mexican immigrants are deported to Mexico from the USA. it is US citizens and Mexicans living in the U.S. that are against mass deportations!!!!!!

2. and you're loving the fact that Mexico is becoming inundated with a constant flow of illegals from central American..... YET you don't realize that their goal is to come to AMERICA.... not Mexico. Mexico is just at buffer!!!!!!

This just displays exactly how these people have NO pride in their own country. Not only are they bailing out and not trying to improve their homeland, but they are hindering foreign investment, which could really improve the economic condition and living conditions in their country. Complete friggin idiots.

Regarding this question and article...Mexico is doing the US a FAVOR by sending them back. These people have no intention of staying in Mexico, their destination was HERE. The Mexican Department of State also helped the US by requiring Brazilian nationals to have a visa to enter Mexico, since many were flying from Brazil to Mexico, only to later hop the border into the USA. They learned it on a novela (soap opera) which depicts the journey of 4 Brazilians doing just this...and then the population of illegal Brasileiros here in the US exploded.

You obviously don't know what you are saying.

Mexico and the US both do deport lots of illegal immigrants living inside. They stop/catch them at their borders and deport them back too.

The US can't deport 12 million illegal immigrants. I don't think that's the case with Mexico. They don't have that many illegals. And they probably wouldn't able to deport all their illegals out of their country either.

"nomames"-- And I do agree with this guy.

Mexico does use us as a source of money but the bottom line is until we have a President with the balls to sign an Executive Order for shoot to kill at the border we will always have to deal with these hypocrits.

another thing mexicans comeing here really need to take into consideration is thats their country most of them act so proud of it and even come into our country waveing their flag in our face and burning our down...well i say if they are so damn proud of their country why dont they stay there and try to make it into a better place to live.Dont people see,the areas in america that are mostly populated by illegal mexicans looks alot like mexico....so if us as americans let this go on and do nothing or very little to stop illegals, america is very likely to look alot like mexico starting with the bordrline states like california, texas, and so on.

Here's another good link concerning Mexico's treatment of illegals. Quite hypocritical.

Other countries are not expected to cater to those that break the laws; Only in the USA can you find other countries dictating humane treatment to criminals. It is sad and this was an eye opening article.
