In Matthew 12:34-37 Jesus said, “You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him."

If it looks like a snake, and slithers like a snake..... I am not foolish enough to assume that I know the total moral character of a person by what they post on a forum of this type. I do believe that over a period of time, most people begin to reveal some basic traits. I have also come to trust certain R&S people, and trust they are who they say they are. I have no hidden agenda for my postings. I do not expect everyone to agree with me or subsctibe to my beliefs. In fact, if that were the case, I probably would have moved to another forum by now. I like the diversity. If someone crosses a line that I do not care to cross, I can take a pass on that question. [If I have missed one of my pals, don't assume I was offended, I may have just had a life that day!]
To follow Q&A guidelines and actually answer: No. Even though our fingers are talking, this is real life. If I get on this forum to back-bite, I would be a real life back-biter. I am not.

I think anyone is capable of having their feathers ruffled, or having a bad day, or similar type things - and on our "off" days, we can snap, or say something with a bit more quickness than we normally would. But generally if we are a fun-loving, kind, sweet, happy person, I think a bad day here or there does not negate our goodness.

However, there are folks who are snappy, mean, back biters all of the time. Do I think they are different in real life? I think they may not have the nerve to say things exactly how they say them here - but I think they are probably still pretty ugly on the inside.

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." -- Hebrews 4:12 KJV

God never changes, even from the OT we see he still cares about our motives in our hearts, even before we act on the thoughts. So nothing is hidden from Him. And to those that He has blessed with the Holy Spirit, they may bear the gift of discernment/knowledge that enables the compass of conviction within, in order to deal with people who do not live up to the standard of integrity expected by God. But saved or not, we all wrestle with the will of our flesh - it proceeds to do one thing while our spirit within knows otherwise. Which dog do you feed most? The black dog (flesh) or the white dog (spirit). Its a constant battle and those that have a good moral, ethical foundation will do the right thing.

What version of the bible are you talking that verse from? anyways I dont know what back-biters are, never heard that expression before, but who they are off the internet is unknown to me. However I think people who behaves badly online are real people who made real choices and are probably that way in real life as well. but it could be that they just do it online for kicks and are normal in real life. but by treating people badly online they defile themselves still which shapes who they are weather or not they are good or bad in real life. Only that which comes out of a man can defile him

I suspect the atheists and muslims who are so nasty on this board are very bad people in real life too. They're probably a little less brazen about it, so they don't get their butts kicked regularly. So, just as bad but sneakier.
